Ok, maybe not, but WHY oh WHY won't it index it? I bought three domains recently, all very similar in nature. Two were indexed quickly, one is on the first page as of today. The Domain in question was bought nearly a week before the others two, right away I submitted to Google, put up a sitemap and submitted that, built a few links that are now indexed, but the domain itself is nowhere to be found. site: "***.com" simply won't bring it up. The only thing that I can think of that might be a factor is that I believe it was an expired domain that I picked up. I can't think of how that would factor in, but I'm going bonky trying to figure this out. It's been around 3-4 weeks now. I would say Google hates me personally, but they've actually treated some of my other sites quite well recently. Thoughts? |

If it was an expired domain, perhaps it was blacklisted for one reason or another?

Just checked here BLACKLISTALERT.ORG - Test if your IP or DOMAIN is listed in a spamdatabase and it checks OK. I don't know anything about the validity of that site though.

I have had individual sites (small percentage) that took 3 months to get indexed. This happens every now and then.

Well, I can't tell why your new domain do not exist in Google search result. This I would say is beyond sandboxing. Have you check the other search engines to see if it exist there? That can tell you if any have indexed it at all.

Hi there Michael, Here's my thought and my experience as well. I faced similar problems too in the past. Here's the thing. I have more than 10 sites at that time. All were indexed and ranking ok. But, there's just one site which was NOT indexed by Google. Backlinking were strictly done by 100% white hat methods (e.g. article marketing with unique articles to each top article directories). But it JUST did not get indexed by Google. Google didn't like my .org domain somehow. But, like your case, it ranks top in Yahoo! Later I checked my site an Internet Archive: Digital Library of Free Books, Movies, Music & Wayback Machine (Way Back Internet Machine), it was under a different owner. God knows what he had done to get the site "banned" or "blacklisted" from Google. Lesson learned: Before buying a new domain, check it at the Way Back Internet Machine. Chances are, 100% new domains (which no one has bought before) will be best. |

Not too concerned about fast, I'm just wondering if it ever will index at all? I've read everything I can get my mind around on the subject... In addition to what I've already listed in previous posts, I have added it to Google Webmaster Tools, submitted a site map, created a few dozen links, I've got adsense running on it, and a few more things I can't recall right now. Everything purely white hat. I've checked for blacklisting, nope. I really do think Google has it out for me. |

Ahh the google mystery. I have sites that go up the google chart right away and some that take weeks to index, go figure.

I figure, for the sake of anyone that might find this thread in the future, that I'll follow it through to completion and post the end result. For now, I've determined it's possibly a sitemap issue. Strange because my other domains are set up the same and have no problems. I have submitted several different "flavors" of sitemap to Google (through Webmaster Tools), and it never wanted to recognize that I had done so. I finally found a version that Google at least acknowledges and says that I submitted x amount of URLs. Guess we'll see where it goes... |

Well, I got my answer from Google... my site violates their quality guidelines in some mysterious, unanswerable way. I think I'll just strip the site, put up something temporary, get it indexed and then put it back how I want it. What a hassle. Seems they could at least give you a clue...

Did you buy the domain after it expired and deleted? If its the case, the previous owner of the domain may have used some black hat tricks to get high ranking on google..and google probably have punished the domain...waht about the others SEs? |

LOL...no thanks ![]() However, a good way to start bringing in some google-love is to just start building a variety of backlinks to the URL. It make take a while, but as long as it comes in naturally Google will start to rank it well. | |

You know, things are just goofy. This domain actually has a number of backlinks at this point but the Goog still refuses to index it. Now, I DID make .32 from adsense on it today. Shocker. Were one of you all feeling sorry for me? |

Yup, I just learned my lesson. Bought 5 microniche sites, 4 got indexed, 1 did not. Somehow I came across the wayback site, and found out that domain had a previous owner 2003. Then I read somewhere that google bans expired domains. Anyway, I never knew to check a domain to see if it had a previous owner. Well.....now I know and will never purchase one again. Deb |

Google do not bann domains that expires. It is however possible for expired domains to have been banned before they expired. The domains can however loose the benefit from any links they had previous to expiring.
