I have a site that offers service XYZ with a branded domain that doesn't contain the KW. Say that the keyword I want to rank for "XYZ". Is it easier to rank "www.domain.com" or the subpage, "www.domain.com/XYZ" for that keyword? |

If your on page SEO is nicely targetted to that keyword then it would not make too much of a difference, but the subpage has a slight advantage due to the keyword. If this term is all that your site is about, then I would just stick with the home domain and optimize it for that term. |

Thanks ![]() Okay I'm gonna go with the page then. The site offers service A, service B and service C. It would make sense to optimize domain.com/service A for the keyword 'service A' |

| Google doesn't have any keywords. They're branded. You've got a brand name and all you need is great content. Stick relevancy and you should be fine. Matt Cutts mentioned this a few weeks ago about using brand names instead of keywords. |

IMO, using keyword in domain name is better than using it as a folder or sub domain. I think in this case it ranks higher than other options.
