Default Do follow back-links turn no follow , how to ensure it stays no follow ?

Hey all ,

I do a lot of back-linking and i have noticed that in some forums after creating do follow back-links they remain like that for a couple of weeks and after that they change to no follow . Is there any way to find out that the do follow back-links do not change to no follow and if they do change to no follow; is there any way to rectify them ? Please do give your suggestions about this to help me out .

Thanks a lot .

I haven't run into that situation yet but that seems odd. Have your tried to read in the rules of the forum and see if there are certain stipulations? Sometimes you have to reach a certain reputation and so on.

do you know the nofollow code ?
it's already in their sites' program. So it's impossible for us to changed it, except you hacked it first.

Please do not use affiliate links in signatures

Hi madhavs1989,

It could be any of the following:
  • A forum moderator reads your post and decides it is too spammy and he makes it into a nofollow link.
  • The Webmaster has installed a plug-in that automatically converts all links in posts (or signatures) to nofollow after a specified period. In this case you have not been singled out and you will see all posts over the same age converted to nofollow.
  • The forum uses a merit based system to reward members that contribute useful posts and your contributions fell below the minimum requirement.
  • Your member name, website or email address has been added to a blacklist used by the forum script to fight spammers and/or malware websites.

Yes , that's the case for a few forums . But let me tell you once again . They were do follow when i posted comments in the forum and after a couple of weeks the entire page turns no follow . I have noticed that in a number of forums where i created back-links last month . I guess they found my comments a bit spammy and turned it into no follow , i don't see any other reasons apart from that .

I do know the no follow code pretty well . I'm not the one who just goes to random forums to create back-links without no idea what it does !

The wordpress blogs are set not nofollow just dont mess with it,
I'm sorry i forgot to mention , all these back-links were created using forum posts and commenting , and not WordPress blogs .

Thanks a lot ! Yes i guess it was because of the plugins , if they had found me spammy they would have removed me a long time back . One more question , is there any way to find out that they are using plugins or something like that , that makes the do follow turn no follow ?

No way to do that, just think about it, if someone want to steal your pagerank juice, you will give them happily? Definitely you won't! Nor those forums' webmasters!
