|  what useful information can be gotten from the cached time
The question which is puzzled me is what useful information can be gotten from the cached time? Anyone can give me constructive viewpoint? Thanks in advance.

It's useful because you know when was the last time Googlebot crawled it. This gives you a good indication of how active the site is. If it hasn't changed for ages it's cache date is older. If it changes every day its cache date should be very recent.
