Youtube Seo basics?

Hi guys

I currently do the following for my videos and wanted to know if I miss any steps.

1. I do a little keyword research in my niche (self development) on youtube keyword tool. I pick keywords I think sound good but also try to give some thought to monthly searches.

2. I use my title in the Description once, The first thing I have in description is a live link to my site and then I ask people to subscribe to my channel.

3. For tags I pick keywords related to my niche and my own name.

I have seen some people fill their description box with tags, should I do this or?

Any other tips I miss?

There are a few other things I do, they are not directly related to SEO but can help promote your videos.

You can bookmark your videos, I use onlywire for example
Your youtube channell has RSS feed, you should ping this, bookmark it and submit it to RSS sites like MillionRSS
Do some competitive anaylisis and choose the tags from the highest ranking videos in youtube based around your keyword and not just the ones you think will work.
To help your video rank higher in youtube from what i understand likes, comments and views, count so you may want to hire a gig on fiverr to help with some of these
Also the display slide of the video can help get you more views and hense better rankings, i beleive youtube use the slide in teh middle of the video as the default, so make sure it is appealing and eye catching

Yeah fill your description box with tags it is good for ranking. I like to leave the link to my site as the first thing they see in the description box also like click http://www.yoursite.com for example. I also like to remind my viewers to click the link in the description box in my video, and please leave a comment if you enjoyed the video. Oh, and backlinks don't hurt either!

well, i don't really understand with RSS feed..what should i do with this?

I am wondering if the number of sites the video is embedded at affects youtube ranking, I guess it should afect it.

1.Make sure keywords are in your title.
2.Link to your site is the first thing in description box
3.Description has other related keywords in it
4.Use the transcription option to upload your script in text form. Google still likes text.
5.Use that video you just made as a video response to either another one of your videos or somebody else's <----even better.
6.Put other links in your channel profile and bulletins

Keywords in: title,
description ( a few times) - make a long description
how many favorites
how many likes
views
embeds
transcript - like mbullard said
backlinks
videos in your channel
pr of your channel
keyword inside your video... make sure that you say your keyword or have a slide with your keyword throughout your video.
how many subscribers you have
how many friends you have
how many comments you have

For views, download the free software viewet.com
to capture subscribers and friends, use tube toolbox
for video keyword research/video seo use video shadow
and you can also get alot of views/likes/comments/etc from fiverr
