I've had the best luck with Sean Donahoe..Having tried quite a few wso's and other methods over the years, what he teaches can be applied right away and is fresh up to date.

I'd have to say Matt Carter. His lessons are easy to understand and very newbie friendly. Everything he teaches, he does. And it makes him a lot of money. His teaching have also worked for me. Cheers, |

Interesting how you guys have so many names. Anyway, personally I think the best guru is yourself once you have the newbie basics down (you need backlinks to rank a website, you need to have the keyword mentioned in your post). You should be testing what is most effective for you because a lot of what I found can sometimes contradict what a "guru" says in the world of SEO...

Which "guru" is best for you mainly determines on WHAT you want to learn. You need to know on which area(s) you want to specialize on, then you can get a coach or mentor. If you are looking for a training course, I would suggest to hop on the WSO forum. Here you will find and abundance of possibilities to enhance your knowledge. |

Look in to Lisa Parmley "inLine SEO" - she has some good free content and a very good course on how to structure your website , keyword selection and how to rank with great content. Her approach would seem to fit in nicely with what google is looking for, great original content and useful information.
