| Problem --- Hostgator doesn't pay affiliates for hosting sign ups, unless the sign up stays with them for at least 90 days Question --- Any better "solution" out there? Hostgator doesn't care whether the customer pays for 1 or 2 or 3 years in advance. Since Hostgator doesn't have contract, they are waiting the "90 days" and from a business standpoint, I understand why they have implemented this 90 day period, to see if the customer cancels during that time. Why pay me if the customers cancels during that period, so "I get it"... I can't do a reseller account at this time, so I am stuck being an affiliate Does anyone have a host that is a little more "liberal" about the timeframe in which someone has to sign up before they release affiliate commissions? thank you so much ![]() Danni~ |

if you push a lot of volume (lots of sales) you can negotiate better payment frequency other than that, you have to deal with it it's not so bad, you are getting paid regardless!

Last time, I logged in my CJ account, I saw Hostly.com there. Their commissions were also good, $100+ per sale. As they are on CJ, I think they will pay monthly. Check them out once. Other than that, HostGator has this system of their own because they are a major brand in hosting. It is rather easy to convert with them than any other hosts available out there. Their closest competition is gotta be bluehost but those guys take 4 months .

I think you are going down a dangerous path here. Do you really want to sacrifice quality because of wanting to get paid faster as an affiliate? If I get this right (because you were talking about a reseller account as well) the hosting accounts aren't your main source of money. So, I recommend that you stick to the better (and known) quality of Hostgator and be patient for a while. |

thanks rainman, you know it is interesting that cj offers $100 per hosting, whereas HG directly has a tiered system that's starts at (I believe) $50 Quote:
you kinda didn't read the question correctly, nor the tenor of it... You read into it something that wasn't there, addtionally I addressed the point of "hosting" specifically, and as well "reseller" too You see this is about "hosting" and making money via that means However, you may be correct in that HG really is a good choice when all's said and done....and your mention of having patience, is always good information as well ![]() thanks for being nice enough to reply nevertheless, I appreciate the time you took, that was very nice of you ![]() Danni~ Quote:

How many clients do you have referring people to a hosting plan? Host Gator's initial reseller plan is $25 and they give you plenty of bandwidth and disk space to host quite a few clients. Honestly if you just had at least 3 clients and you charged them $10-$15 per month which is very reasonable you would not only be breaking even but making money. Average small business owner doesn't have a problem paying $15 to $20 per month in hosting if they perceive it to be of high value. |

I found a great hosting offer. Its Uk2.net - they pay from 30% but if you can drive 22 hosting sales a month then it goes up to 60% on most things . If you sign up via CJ you get paid around 30 days. On some of my sales I get paid much more than $50. They are part of the Uk2 Group. I always get quick answers on any queries I have. | |

thanks mister tony ![]() I am going to start as an affiliate for now (think I mentioned that?) so I'm going after the HG one time commish for the time being but I want to say "thank you" very much for that idea... I was thinking more along the lines of building sites and getting the commish from HG, and then offering SEO as well, but the SEO is a bit more delayed on the backburner...... thanks tony baloney! ![]() Quote:
I looked for affiliate info on the site, didn't see any, plus my local 7/11 at the corner won't know what to do with "pounds!" (giggles!) that was very nice of you to ex-"pound" but seriously thanks for explaining and giving some detail, do they work with yanks? I do admit a "net 30" is attractive, but gotta believe it's a reseller acct rather than affiliate sign ups? Danni~ Quote:

Don't EVER promote Hostgator as an affiliate. They will do everything in their power NOT to pay you. The latest newly added reason not to pay is they're not happy with the site that's uploaded. They're now not paying me because significant changes weren't made to the hosted site, EVEN IF IT'S PAID IN FULL! Scam. Z |
