So my sit was sitting at rank 4 on page one, then it dropped to rank five, then a little while later it dropped to page 5? So I hear that his is called the Google dance and it usually happens to everyone and there's nothing to worry about it will be back up to its right spot in a few days. But I'm wondering what this means for me. Should I be happy? Does this mean when it comes back its gonna be even a higher rank? Or should I be mad? because I just lost a few days of traffic from Google for it to return to its original spot? Thanks |

wish I knew man.. I had 2 sites getting me around 1300 visitors a day sitting at rank 1 then they both dropped to page 3 or lower.. it's been this way for 2 weeks, they won't move.. 2 weeks is a long time for 1300 + visitors a day. |

I'd say good. Up until now, most of my sites have bounced back. One of them took a good month, then came back stronger to page 1, but has not been gone for about 2 weeks. It will be back though. The key is to keep doing what you were doing.

Some sites were greatly affected by the Google Farmer update. Sites with low quality, scraped content, built for ads, and duplicate content across pages (e-commerce sites) were hit by this update. Just keep on building links daily and improve your site's content and link from authority high PR sites. |

I don't think yours is a google dance problem because if it was a dance then probably it would have gone down to 300, 400 never seen such short fall in google dance. If it fell to page 5 may be because you have stopped building links to the site so the old links were deindexed and site gone down.

Search is a moving target. Google changes their algorithms more than 400 times per year perhaps even more. The search results you see are not the same as what another person in another location will see. So you may think you have a certain position.. but you don't. |

I wouldn't say it's google dance if you fell only few positions. For me it seems like competitors are doing better SEO.

| I'm in the same boat. Two weeks ago my pages dropped from page 1 to nowhere. It's all my own content and i never made any major changes. Still no sign of my pages returning to Google, and practically no visitors to my site. This whole Internet marketing caper is a dangerous business. Being so heavily reliant on one supplier (Google) is too great a risk.

Google dance is a good sign. Just build some backlinks while in google dance, you'll see good changes. Also put new content, that is the most important thing.

Just keep on building backlinks that are quality and diverse; continually. You'll be ok! It's normal. -Omar |
