Default Duplicate content and its effect on link power

Hi,

I'm interested to hearing people's opinions on the following.

If a site with duplicate content links to another site, is the link as powerful (or worth anything) compared to a link coming from non-duplicate content?

Thanks

Hi cecilio,

It really depends on how you are defining duplicate content. Often duplicate content, especially when it is massively duplicated will not be indexed and naturally would not have any SEO benefit. There are many examples of duplicate content that ranks well, gets lots of traffic, earns high PageRank and passes plenty of link juice.

As a rule, if the page gets plenty of targeted traffic it will always be of value.
