Finally hit the elusive $100 a day mark

I have been struggling with a site to break the $100 a day mark using only adsense. Been hitting 80’s and 90’s each day for two months and was wondering if I would ever break the big $100 mark. Finally yesterday I hit $104 for one adsense website in one day. The big push came as I moved from number 3 to number 2 in my secondary keyword.
For those of you using adsense and wondering if you will ever make any money, there is hope. Don’t believe all the “Number one in 2 weeks” BS. Just build a good site with good content and then continue to work on backlinking. I backlink each week for three days and then do nothing the other 4 days so I don’t get burned out. If I can do it, you can too!

Thanks for the great post. I'm sure many will find this very inspirational. What I'd like to know purely out of interest, is how long it took you to reach number 2 in Google, and just how competitive your keyword is (I guess how many monthly searches for exact). I've seen so many posts on here where guys are losing faith in building links and ranking well in Google and I always tell them to hang in there and that it can take a few months or even longer. I'd love to hear your story as well.

Well, I have to admit, I did a lot of stuff wrong. The site is 18 months old and for the first six months, the only thing I really did was use Angelas backlinks. I didnt even know about indexing or anything like that, I just made the lins and hoped for the best. That didnt work very well. I then purchased some backlink packages like a link wheel and some forum profiles but that really didnt help much.

My main keyword has 18,000 exact searches per month and my secondary keyword has 24,000 exact per month. I am now ranking #1 for the primary and #2 for the secondary.

I really didnt notice any solid movement until I got more involved and started working the links. I started writing articles and posting them in 10 different directories. I would write one, spin it myself and then have my wife spin both of those and have a friend spin some of those. I tried to keep the articles unique on each site, at least as much as I could. I started joining directories, making utube vids, actually indexing links with different methods and joining lots of forums that I had interest in. I also picked up scrapebox and started finding my own forums to create links in and use SB to post on blogs. I set a goal for 500 backlinks per month and have been working that for the last 6 months.

I didnt post more than one backlink per site so I think that hurt me a bit and my keywords were a little busy for a beginner. Most people are working on words with less than 10,000 searches per month. My words were very competitive and most sites in the top 10 had over 3000 backlinks showing up in yahoo so they probably had much more.

The journey was slow and steady and I just kept at it and kept working the plan each month. You need a plan, it needs to include a variety of types of backlinks and you need to keep on it. I like to think of it like planting an apple tree, it takes a bit of time in the beginning to get it going and there is not much reward but after a while, it all falls in place and you have a continuous supply of fruit!

Good show! The mythical $100 a day Actually, it's not that mythical, as people continually point out and you have once again proven, it's just about persistence. I am not close to those figures yet with Adsense (too many other irons in the fire ), but I can see quite easily how possible it is and how it directly depends on the effort you put in.

Now, invest the earnings in outsourcing to exponentially increase that I found things so much easier once I had a bit to invest back into outsourcing boring SEO tasks etc. I like the home industry aspect too, wife - friend, friend of friend etc! There are masses of people (can you say students?) whose talents are going begging, who know nothing about IM but would be glad of some freelance work and can really do a good job.

P.S. Definitely get some eggs in some other baskets though!

Adsense is still very viable. I recently help a friend launch a brand new blog that basically "blew up" overnight. Her earnings went from $10-20 per day to over $150+ per day. Was neat to watch...

I was not planning on it but if it helps, I hit $142 on that site yesterday! I was just posting to let people know that it possible. I often wonder about a lot of the posts I see on the forums but I can now honestly say that $100 a day from adsense on one site is possible.

Great post Jmac! I remember thinking that if I could just make $1 a day for 1 site I would be sooo happy. When I finally made it I shot for the $5 dollar mark and made that...then $10 and hit that mark so after reading about your experience I am sure I can make the $100 if I am just persistent as you have been. Scaling after that is the key to real success so thanks again for this thread...it helps me realize that I will get there...soon!

Congratulations. It's good to see that you are succeeding with your method. Now, all you have to do is create more sites and scale up the process. You are beating a lot of internet marketers even if you stay at a consistent $80 a day. There are many people that will never hit that range on the internet even after trying for years.
