Hi I am new so please bear with me if this has been asked before. I have a Google Adwords account with about 7 different campaigns in there. Recently I received a message saying that one or more of my campaigns was in violation of Google's landing page t&c's. They shut the whole lot down! None of the sites are pornographic or anything like that. Question is what do I do now? Someone said that I should hide my affiliate links as Google doesn't like these, if that is the case...how? Any help well appreciated Lee |

Second, I think your best course of action right now in order to satisfy your own curiosity will be to actually print out Google's TOS for Adsense, lay it out in front of you and read every point on what's allowed and not allowed. Then close your eyes and think: is there anything that I violated? It's not just about having porn or not. It's not that simple. Maybe you had too many ads on a page? Maybe you edited the adsense code in your HTML editor? Why don't you look at the TOS point-by-point then figure it out?

He's talking about Adwords, not Adsense. Most likely reason to lose account is that you are sending traffic to a "thin" site or you are promoting an offer that google doesn't like. It's not just porn, there are a whole host of stuff that Google dont like.... free tv, water 4 gas, any sort of diet pill rebill offer etc... |

You get to start over... make sure you play by their rules. You are not alone the Big G has shut down many an advertiser. What sucks is you put so much time and effort into creating just to have it all crash down at once. Perhaps several smaller accounts are now in order. Google makes the rules, we just play by them. I would definitely agree with the "thin" content comment. So many people in the past have done nothing more than just link to the same advertiser content which ads no value to the equation. You have to remember that these types of accounts make Google look bad and Big Brother is watching over them as well. Everyone wants to sue Google these days. The Government is someone nobody wants to be sued by. |

In addition to the above suggestions, make sure you're not clicking adsense links on your own site.

I just want to say that if you or anyone will violate the rules by Google then account will be closed. You had done something wrong so that your account has been closed.

I heard a lot of people got their AdWords account banned but not really know what the exact reason is. If your business is relying on AdWords, then it just too risky.

The issue was with the landing pages so please make sure the landing pages are accurate and should not misguide the visitors.

Check Google Adwords TOS carefully, see what you have done wrong, many people don't read the TOS until they get banned.

You will have to create a new adwords account, with a new name and a new credit or debit card.

It happened to me too. Be careful creating a new account. Their policy is to shut down any other account they link to you, so if you use same contact /payment details, or same campaign/url ingredients, they will most likely find your new account and suspend it. You have to correct all the sites that don't conform to Adwords policy. When you are sure you have done so, contact them and ask for a reevaluation. Tell them you have done your utmost to correct all problems and to please point out specific details you have overlooked so you can correct it also. Here's a link to the Adwords contact options: How do I contact Google AdWords? - AdWords Help I went through this and had a sustained email exchange with some Google staffers. In the end I could not get reinstated because a couple of the landing pages in question were not under my control, so I could not make them comply with policy. They were affiliate landing pages I sent traffic to years ago. (Dammit!) They were accepting of my corrected pages, and if all the destinations I had sent clicks to were under my control I am sure I would have got my account back. At first you will get canned responses, but reply to them asking for specifics and reevaluation. Be persistent, always be polite and grateful for their help, don't give up until you absolutely know you can't pursue it any further. Best of luck, Rovi |
