Google just made its last algorithm update global. Official Google Webmaster Central Blog: High-quality sites algorithm goes global, incorporates user feedback Most of poor quality content sites facing big drop in rankings. But one thing I noticed is Hubpages, affected badly after this update. Most of hubs lost ranking after this update and even it includes quality hubpages as well. Did you noticed the same?? |

One of my hubs that was ranked #2 bringing in 30-50 UV's per day is now bottom of page 3. I'm focusing 100% of my efforts into my websites I own now. Having said that even my websites have been badly affected

That's kind of misleading. It was not hub, eza, or any site like it that got hit. What got hit was thin-lousy-content on it. The content that was quality, is still there. The junk got hit. Your site moving to page 3 is probably just normal fluctuations. Hardly a hit. A hit would be not in the top 500, or a de-index. But that would not be hub taking a hit, it would be your article. I wish people would stop taking things out of context Paul |

If the hubpages are mostly affected in this updates I would suggest to build more quality links to improve more in rankings.

I just checked my hubs that were ranking page 1. None of them are on page 1 anymore ![]() Oldest hub had been ranking steady for over a year. Luckily I don't rely on the hubs at all, I just use them to grab longtails and filter traffic back to me. |

Despite whether or not Hubpages or the thin-content on Hubpages was penalized, would you still consider them a good site to get a back link from?

Right now I only see evidence that the actual thin content is penalized by not ranking so well. All my sites that have been optimized with links from articles and web 2.0 sites are still rankings, it's just the articles pointing to the site that seem to have lost ranking.

Poor content sites again hit by Google in this update but I noticed some of high quality hubs which were in top 3, are now on second or third page of Google. It may be possible Google pushed back those hubs due to any other reason.

I can't understand why this hub pages got negative rankings, as hubpages always provide a do follow link and which never passses any link juice to its outbound going link and why they are dropped down in ranking

It's not just the thin content that got hit. G has said that having thin or 'shallow' content could driving down rankings of the entire site. However, google's buddies eHow, wikiHow, etc. have bushels of thin, actually ridiculous content, which has gotten a big boost! |

I had a hub that ranked steady #8 for months. After the last update it got hit hard! It's on the 5th page now. |

Only thin lousy hubs got the slip. Big difference in saying all hub pages got slapped. You could say that about any website. Pick one. The thin stuff got slapped. Not the site, the thin stuff on the site. Every page that was thin was ripe for a hit. Because Hub might have let more thin stuff in obviously means the ratio might be higher. But just the ratio. Not a blatant statement about hubpages. You cannot say everything on hub got hit. It didn't. Paul |

I guess one of my competitors hubs who was ranking for a similar keyword with over 1000+ positive comments was thin aswell. Do some research buddy.
