I've had a few gigs on fiverr, giving me backlinks. How do I let Google know about these, or do I just have to wait? Cheers. |

Pinging your links "lets Google know about them", but this doesn't mean Google cares about them or even indexes them. You need to not only create high quality content on your sites, but also your backlinks much come from pages with high quality content. Content that Google loves and people are willing to share, this will improve the weight of your backlinks. You can also backlink your backlinks and share your backlinks through social media to create a buzz that all point back to your website. This is very helpful for your rankings. Cheers, |

I don't believe in pinging to heavily though, backlinks get indexed naturally over time. What I mean by indexing backlinks is indexing the page that the backlink resides. Cheers, | |

The less Google knows about those junk links, the better.

Google has this nasty habit of slowing you down if it somehow overshoots (in it's opinion). Meaning that you might enjoy high impressions rate for a couple of days (after some extensive backlinking that you have done) and then it reduces you if not to rubble to your previous state anyway. I think this happens because it deems too many new backlinks as artificially posted (which it, naturally, is the case most of the time). Therefore slower it finds your backlinks better. It might take really some time before it indexes some obscure pages that you happened to post your links to. So what? Even better. Pinging it extensively is not a good idea at all.

All we have to do is to act naturally. Haven't they told you that when you were growing up? |

If you have your sites link present on one of those sites then it will be just a matter of time (1-2 weeks) that Google will create backlinks to your site. Some of the backlinks can be found via your webmaster account |

Pinging is the best way to nudge google, otherwise it will re-crawl you eventually but don't get too hasty about backlinks focus on quality over quantity and just watch the traffic rise all in due time.

Yeah Linklicious exists for the sole purpose of getting URLs indexed, they even guarantee it with their paid packages ($17 and up). Great for those of us building large quantities of links that want to see results fast.

Google will eventually find your site if you build links and Google finds your site's link on other sites. Another way is to "ping" Google but personally I prefer the first method |

I usually just wait and let them get discovered on their own. (Unless their fairly low quality links. Then I'll need to ping them.) Scrapebox has a pretty powerful RSS ping feature built in if you are willing to spend $57. loopline has a good overview here: |

There are ping tools available, you can use them to get quicker index. If you do not ping or get backlinks to your backlinks themselves, sometimes Google may not see your backlink - your effort may be pointless. It is better to ping your backlinks.

It depends on the links, if the links are placed on a page with PR, you do not need to ping them. If they are PR 0 and a new page, then yes you should ping them.
