Which part of the website should you ping exactly? Let's say the backlink is in the profile section of a member of a forum. Which one of those 3 should I ping? 1. www.site.com 2. www.site.com/forums 3. www.site.com/forums//member.php?action=profile&uid=xxxx Thanks, |

You need to ping the page that has your link on it, in this case it would be www.site.com/forums//member.php?action=profile&uid=xxxx. Even if you ping your profile links you are going to have a hard time getting them indexed. I've had better luck building high quality profile links and then building some crappy links to them, both to get them indexed and give them a tiny bit more link juice. |

You need to get the actual PAGE that contains the backlink indexed - In your example it's the last one. The best way is not to ping it. Just write a few helpful posts on a few busy forum topics and you're on your way. The posts will automatically contain a backlink to your profile link (from your forum nickname that appears next to your post). While you're there, you might be able to chuck some direct signature links in there too. Cheers, Dave |

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm not sure about RSS feed - If I RSS feed my money site - how does that help to index my backlinks?

Google "linklicious", you will get to know how to use your links to create RSS feeds and then ping them to index the profiles. Hope that helps.

Don't get hung up on indexing your backlinks. You can rank a site with zero links indexed. Instead focus on the goal - SERP improvements which lead to more visitors. Track your SERP improvements when using profiles, pinging (like Linklicious), articles, comments, etc. Indexing is easy to measure but ultimately not directly related to your SERPs.
