Hi - I am hoping this is not a silly question and that someone can explain it to me. I have started to notice on a couple of my sites that the homepage ranks better for some keywords than the inner page based on that keyword. For example if my site is Widgets.com and I have an inner page called 'Blue Widgets With Knobs On' why would the home page outrank it? The homepage mentions blue widgets with knobs on briefly but the inner page is optimized for it. Can anyone explain why this is? Thanks in advance for any help. Oops - sorry about typo in title! i thing you have good backlink ie incoming links from that keyword.. you need to optimize your sites innerpage with that keyword.. like you need to get backlinks from blue widget keyword pointing to blue widget innerpage of your site

i also face this problem i think your home page keyword and other page keyword are similar . then google show you home page keyword replace of other page keyword.
