Prefered domain settings in Webmaster Tools

Im trying to change the prefered domain settings in Google Webmaster Tools for a site but it just displays this;

Part of the process of setting a preferred domain is to verify that you own http://domainname.com/. Please verify http://domainname.com/.


Ive verified the site with Google Analytics and by uploading a HTML file to the domain so it's verified using 2 methods.

What could be the problem here? Ive looked at the help section but can't find anything.

Click verify where? There isn't a verify button to click. When i click an option in Prefered domains it just has Save or Cancel

How do i add both the versions www and non www?

The problem is that it's asking me to verify i own the domain.
