Default What do you think of rss submit?

Does anyone see any success with rss submit? It's not cheap.
I submitted some rss feeds through it, didn't see any results at all.

I'm not convinced there is much point. I use Linklicious.me (free account) just to collect together all my backlinks into RSS feeds and get them indexed, though i am not sure how effective that is, but it can't hurt either I suppose.

RSS submissions work.. I have submitted site feeds 14 months back and still get links back to my sites from the syndicated content being scraped and posted on blogs etc...

just choose the top sites and post to them..

ie.

feedage
feedagg

etc

RSS submit might help with content pages getting indexed better and faster by Google and other major search engines but I really doubt if faster indexing, without backlinks would help getting higher ranks. You can find websites which are not even using RSS feeds and not getting updated for months but enjoying top web ranks.

Their success is due to the strong links they gain and so, even if a certain website is updated several times week or even day bur lacks enough links, those updates and probably RSS feeds will not make magical changes on the net since at the end of the day, websites powered by better links would be found on first pages of Google.

Save your time.

RSS feeds are only useful in grouping together your links, possibly to drip feed them out. They don't promote crawling or indexing which is the goal that most people are looking for. With Linklicious we automagically build feeds of the links. The free service doesn't ping the links in the feed and we let Google crawl naturally. We find that usually < 5% of the RSS feed links get crawled naturally. That's why we made the paid service, which pings the individual links to get them crawled.

So speaking from someone with experience with handling millions of RSS feeds and watching Google crawls, save your time.

Linklicious.me - A scheduled service to ping your backlinks. Make all your backlinks count!

DripFeedLinks.com - Fully automated blog comments and forum profiles.

Going back to this - let me get this right, (I used Linklicious, free for now) you are saying that although the RSS feeds get crawled, the LINKS, i.e. the pages linked to, do not with any great frequency? (5%) I have seen you state that elsewhere, I just wonder what kind of test you did to determine that? My feeling is that the Googlebot collects links as it travels the web, but when it actually decides to crawl/index is up to its own whims, so it would be hard to determine the precise effects as a percentage...
