It used to be that people promoted keyword density ranges from 3-20%. While this may still work for Bing/Yahoo, for Google, this is now considered overkill. Recent estimates I've heard from SEO experts say that you should have about 2-3% keyword density in your content, but to remember to put your keywords in <h1> tags, in your title, in your metadata, and in your anchor text of your backlinks.

Yes i agree with you mandark, since too much usage of keyword density will lead to spam and it will be treated as a black hat seo tactics by the search engines.

Upto 6 % is fine and useful. but do not use more than this as google and other search engines do not give priority to such sites where there is flood of the key words and the lack of good content so keep it in mind. And for ranking focus your 80 % of work on SEO and just 20 % on this on page work. Then you will get good rankings in the search engines within very short time. |

Well, I wrote a totally natural article the other day, with no real attempt to SEO it, and the main keyword came up around 6%, and I felt that was too much so I cut it down, which is just stupid - that was the NATURAL density, and I don't actually think it's that important anymore. I think the SE language analysis algorithms are far more sophisticated these days to rely merely on keyword density.

According to me 2-3% keyword density is ideal for a web page to maintain keyword density. But if you use your keyword repeatedly then your site got banned by search engines
