What is the benefit of internal links? My site is a gardening site, so it would be fairly easy to link my articles to each other. I am not sure (aside from getting people to perhaps read more than one page) what the inherent value in linking internally is. I've been reading that people are doing it, I'm just not sure why. Can someone give some insight?

One of the benefit of the internal links is that it enhances the navigation of your site, making it easier not only for your reader but also for the 'bots that go through your site. Google loves sites that are easy to navigate. In-text links to relevant pages on your site are highly recommended. In fact, you can link in-text and again with a 'for more information, go to "my other page here" at the end. Google's webmaster guidelines say that every page on your site must be 'reachable' and every page should link back to your home page. |
