latest update not successful - what to do

if you read through this, there were a lot of high quality websites that were negatively effected by the latest update which should not have been

clearly there is a bug in the new algo

sites that were built with original content and even won awards were effected

Thought I'd share a sadly ironic tidbit.

Yesterday, my company, Rent Jungle (Rent Jungle - Apartment and Rental Search Engine With Millions of Apartments And Houses For Rent) had about a 20% traffic hit due to this Google update.

And today, we were honored by the Webby Awards (Welcome to the Webby Awards) as being one of the top sites in our category.

Per the Webby folks: "As a result of the superior quantity and quality of sites entered, the 15th Annual Webby Awards recognized sites and teams that demonstrated a standard of excellence. Of the over 8000 entries submitted to the 15th Annual Webby Awards, fewer than 15% were distinguished as an Official Honoree. This honor signifies an outstanding caliber of work. Congratulations to all of our Official Honoree selections!"

sites which have scraped quality sites are now ranking better,
and older quality sites have lost traffic,

what are these aged quality sites supposed to do now

there are other examples of quality sites that lost traffic if you read through the thread
