I probably read almost any tips in regards to CTR, site layout, ads colors and layout on the net already... It is pretty difficult for me to get a decent (5%+) CTR on a "normal" site which does not look like a crappy MFA site. I think that my Ad layout is very good, i tweaked my site for the best CTR except that i dont use dirty tricks like putting a link unit instead of a menu since i got really paranoid about Adsense bans now. I have the usual big 336 on top of content with text wrapped, and a skyscraper to the left...with the ads blending (kind of) in in terms of colors...but my CTR is often still below and the average CPC is also rather "meh". I'd be interested to see a site which is NOT a MFA site but has good CTR over 5% Edit: Its really hard to keep that balance of "a good site where people don't leave right away" with proper navigation etc...and at the same time trying to get over 5%+ CTR |

Are you using links units? I find the long link units really add to my CTR.

I would like to hear inputs from others too. My settings for my ads are the 336 big ad block aligned to the left of my content. Wrapped. And 1 link unit on my right side menu. Previously my main big ad block are stacked ads and my CTR is 4% - 5%. Just changed it to single ad block today and testing it for a week to see any changes... |

I hear ya George! I do not have a MFA, but I do tweak "signals." Some niches appear to be better targeted. Some are good niches, but it seems the traffic and ads do not get targeted as well. I am constantly using that darned competitive ad filter... I won't discuss my CTR, but it is slightly higher this month. Paul |

I know what you saying as I have been tweaking my site for the better CTR as well. I am still experimenting with different things on page but I think I have found pretty much the best placement for my site now. What I am concentrating now is getting as much targeted traffic as possible as this has greatly increase CTR for me but of course you need to get on page right as well.
