Hi Warriors, I run a business that provides white labeled e-commerce websites to third parties. We also have our own retail website where we promote direct to consumer. The traffic we get here is a direct result of our own PR, marketing, SEO, etc. If we were to put a 'This site is powered by xxxxx' on all the white labeled third party pages, including the individual product pages, this would create a lot of backlinks to our retail website as each 'shop' is a subdomain of the third party's URL. E.g. http://myshop.yourdomain.com. Is this a good idea or would Google not like it? For us it would create thousands of backlinks. Looking forward to hearing the Warriors thoughts! Yours sincerely, Craig |

![]() I don't know if you know but most free wordpress themes got backlinks to it's authors sites. Most people will leave the backlink beacuse it's in the footer. I always live a backlink to my company site in my clients sites. They never complain about that and I get a good backlink | |

Cheers for the comments guys... so to clarify, this is perfectly OK and won't be penalized by Google?

It's one of the best linking methods there is so go for it. It could have a great effect on the traffic levels of your business. There is no such thing as too many backlinks.

They are backlinks. They may help. But the link will not be contextual and will probably be the last line on the page. Those are some of the lowest valued links you can get. And not all the sites will be indexed or loved by google. Linking back to your main site is certainly worth a shot, however. Paul |

Hi guys, I just had google's duplicate content initiative brought to my attention. If we have the same products in each card shop... would this get us penalized? For example shop.yourdomain.com/product1 will be the same content as shop.anotherdomain.com/product1 Craig |
