Hi Guys, How bad is it to use the brandname in a new EMD to promote an Amazon Product? Is it really really that bad? If so, what will happen? ![]() Eg. brand-name.net brandnamexyz.net brandnamereview.net Thanks! |

In most cases you can get away with it, but why bother? I'd rather spend a little more effort to rank a domain I know can't be taken away at any time.

There is about a 1/25 chance you will get a C&D but it depends on the popularity of your product as well as many other factors.

I don't get it... If I set up a review blog on 1 particular product that I'm promoting through Amazon, surely I'm making money for the brand in question - the domain? What are you more experienced Amazon Aff doing with brand name products? What domains are you using? What if I use: brandnamereview.net --- is this still an issue? Thanks |

What the hell is with all this talk about getting sued over it? I mean really? I have a couple micro niche sites that use a brand name. I thought the worst they could do was take the domain from you. Why would they bother suing a domain that gets maybe a hundred visits per month? Plus the sites are going to be promoting their products anyways... doesn't make any sense. Can someone show proof of a case where someone was SUED over using a brand name in a domain?

My point exactly... ANY business in the world would jump at the opportunity for others to sell their products on a commission only basis. It would be a different case if the site is loaded with their competitors products but I am only selling 1 of their products. |

I have a bunch of Amazon sites, some with most without brandnames. I had one I had to take of, because I received a letter from their lawyer threatening me for a huge fine. It was kickersubwoofers.org. FYI |

I currently have a (8 weeks old) brandnamereview.org site that gets about 6-7k UV/day, it's pretty much a news/review site that I try to generate some commission through amazon. I wasn't aware if it would be problem so far nothing but hopefully it stays that way..

![]() They should just tell you to make a link to their website and put a banner or something. | |
