Hi everyone, I'm about to register a domain. Had a plan to book an Exact Match Domain, which isn't available in this particular case. Is it ok to book an EMD with hyphens? Eg: Finance-Credit-Repair.com Niche: Finance P.S Please let me know asap 'coz I feel highly motivated atm |

Hyphens should be fine, although I think you might have a slightly lower SERP CTR if you use hyphens, but that's an unsubstantiated claim so don't take it to heart.

What about the competition for the keyword? And the number of monthly searches (from specific geography of choice - yea, that's my favourite factor when considering AdSense for monetization but I won't tell you why... it's actually kinda obvious )?

However, big "G" will also show your domain. What I do- read me right: "I do"- in this case is registering the domain with hyphens and also getting the dot net or dot org extension. I do redirect the hyphened domain to the dot net or dot org domain. Meharis | |

I have used tons of hyphenated domains in the past after hearing they do not make much of a difference. In my experience I have seen that my hyphenated domains do rank well, but it takes them MUCH longer to gain rankings than normal EMD domains.

A hyphenated domain name provides some advantages: Easy to distinguish words in a domain name Eliminates potentially embarrassing confusion (is it www.GoodsExporter.com or www.GoodSexPorter.com?) Search engines can distinguish every word in the domain name, giving a very small advantage in search engine rankings When other websites link to yours using your domain name as the anchor text, the search engines can distinguish the words in this link, giving a slightly greater advantage in search engine rankings |

A hyphenated domain reduces the chances of type in traffic. However there will be no issues with search engines ranking or indexing web pages on these domains. Most of the Site Build it websites are based on hyphenated domains and they rank well and make money as well. -Revolves |
