Does Pinging My Blog Bring Me Backlinks?

I just got hold of a list of sites providing ping service and I am thinking is pinging my blog post a way to generate backlinks?

If yes, how valuable are those backlinks?

Pinging the blogs are easy and quick way to index your blog to the search engines.
They are valuable because from next time whenever you post it will be indexed automatically.

pinging doesn't get you backlinks. it's just a way of informing the search engines that you have content and that they should visit you to check the content out (and index)

I just want to add that you also want to ping every web page you leave a backlink, because this way you will be indexed faster. I also found that it is way better to be patient and let Google find you from other pages. I don't recommend to ping your site every time you put new content, no one wants that someone dig with finger and say come I have new content, especially Google.

NO you won't get backlinks. Just a poke to that link to evoke the spiders to crawl your site.

pinging will just notify the SE that you have new content and will crawl your site so it get indexed. I don't think its considered backlink
