I have a writer now for a pretty hot niche I got into a weeks ago. I want to get the most exposure to my website. So I am planning on putting my articles on ezine, and other article directories. My question is should I SEO these articles, or just hope that they are the quality that will get me the traffic I need? All suggestions are welcome, Thanks! in advance |

If your primary objective is to attract customers who type one of your keywords into a search-engine as their search terms, then yes - you should, for now, anyway - though in future it may help you just to buy SEO'd articles in the first place? |

Alexa does have a point. I would recommend putting those articles on your own blog. Here's why... Since Google recently did the algorithm change, lots of high PR sites, including article directories, lost a significant amount of traffic. So these directories are cracking down in a big way on what they consider promotional material. Even Squidoo no longer allows you to write about affiliate programs. I would also recommend building a list. Get subscribers and get customers to your list. That way you have a sustained audience without having to hunt for more. You can provide value as well as market to them. I would use the articles you hired your writer to write about as guest posts on blogs with avid readers, but they must be valuable and beneficial to the reader in some way, helping solve a problem. Or... Put the articles on your own blog and join blog networks like Blog Engage and Com Luv to get readership to your blog. These days a blog is pretty much your sanctum because you can dictate what goes on to it. No one else. However, keep in mind that people don't necessarily want to see review, after review after review veiled as an advertisement for a product. Provide valuable tips that help your target reader solve a problem or informs them, i.e. "5 habits that worsen your acne", etc. On your blog, have that opt-in list and free gift ready. Or... The other thing you could do is try Bill Platt's article syndication service. Here's here on the warrior forum. He can disseminate your articles out to a network of lists and newsletters he has access to. Again, your content must be pillar. Not the typical stuff you see around. I think the blog method is probably the best way to go. Yes, keep some SEO in your articles, but it doesn't need to be that hard core. You want your readers to take action, too. |

First of all, put the articles on your own site before considering posting or submitting it on directories. If you want you can seo the articles for better reuslt.

I would advise you find a writer that also knows about SEO and can supply you with fully optimised articles.

What the? All of your articles should be optimised. As mentioned above, put them on your site (perhaps under an Articles category), bookmark them, after they are indexed add them to a high level directory, and bookmark these. Rewrite the articles and put them to a network. Create a pdf of them all and add these to document sharing sites. Bookmark these.....leveraging is easy when you start with quality content. |

I agree with SearchBlogger. If you hired a writer to write the articles for you, and then you have to proof them and SEO them yourself, why are you paying this writer? I have had articles written for me, and yes, they were all SEO'd. I took the original articles and posted them on my blog, and then I had the articles rewritten a few times and I used the rewritten articles to post to the article directories. But regardless of how I did it, all the articles were SEO'd. Just my two cents. |

Putting the exact same article on many different article directories isn't the best strategy. You need unique content for your own website and I also recommend you propose some of your unique articles to other blog owners in your niche (guest blogger) to get high quality editorial backlinks to your website. In both cases I would use basic SEO: KW in Title, description, 2-3 times in article body and maybe some additional LSI keywords. On top of that you could also propose some articles to ezine (newsletter) owners to piggyback on other people's list. |
