Default Adwords Clarification Needed

Hey folks,

I'm planning an adwords campaign and essentially I need your opinion if the big G will have any issue with it. I've ran a couple tests in the past before I knew anything, and my account is on the verge of getting shut down because my ads kept getting rejected. I wasn't doing anything I considered wrong, but obviously I don't understand the policy.

Here's what I want to do:

1. Send my traffic to a squeeze page that has nothing to do with making money, get rich quick, or anything like that. It's a boring niche.

2. On that squeeze page I'll be giving away a free e-course delivered through an auto responder.

3. I'll likely have an OTO after they opt-in.

And that's it. On the squeeze page I'll have links to a privacy policy, a contact us page, terms and conditions.

Anyone see an issue with this?

In case your wondering, this is an untested sales funnel and I'll probably lose my shirt on the deal. But I figure if I'm going to spend a few hundred bucks on something it might as well be a real life learning experience.

Anyway, I'd appreciate any help you can give.

Squeeze pages are mentioned in the guidelines (they call it information harvesting). You can't have a squeeze page simply asking for their email or other personal information without saying what you're getting. Most people would not provide it anyway. Doesn't matter what the product is. Think of it this way. You're searching to buy a car and see an ad. You go or call the dealer based on that ad. They say give us your phone number and email and we'll get back to you with all the info you need. It doesn't make sense. Give them the info they want and need, that's why they are there.

What you describe would not be acceptable. Explain what the course is, what they will learn, not just saying "sign up to get our ecourse" even if its free without saying anything about it.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. On the squeeze page, I will be telling them exactly what they're getting. I'm not trying to deceive the visitor. I have something of value for them, and I want them to know what they're getting.

So if I'm understanding properly, I can have a squeeze page that clearly tells the user what I'm offering.

Would a video about the offer, and some simple bullet points be enough? Or should I write 300+ words about the offer?

Thanks!

A video about the offer would be the best choice but it should not exceed the 2 minutes of clip. You should also opt a female audio for best impression.

I fundamentally stay away from optin on my PPC squeeze pages. I instead link to sub page with optin. It's such a sensitive issue with Google and for me not worth it. Plus if they click the button its a small psychological yes to my offer so it increases my conversion.

There are different degrees here. If you simply have a page saying "receive 10 free Mandarin lessons by email" and then ask for name and email, that's not telling them exactly what they're getting.

I assume you have an actual course which people have to pay for. That's the product to sell. Give information on that. A sales page, not just saying it's a Mandarin course. People want details and why they should buy it from you. You need to pre-sell them. As an incentive, offer the free part by email. If they are really interested, they will sign up and if after the trial they find it of value and are still interested, they'll actually buy.
