Hello everyone, I am working on promoting my US Immigration Services - Apply for USCIS: Green Card, US Citizenship, US Visas, Forms website. So far I have: Posted articles (25+) in dofollow forums with sig links as well as main article links. I have created 3 blogs of my own which have numerous links to the site's homepage as well as subpages. I have entered the site into Google Webmaster Tools as well as created and updated a sitemap.xml file. I have an adwords campaign going with mild spending limits, i.e. $3 per day. I have created an articles directory on the site with home page articles that rotate weekly (or so) so that we have changing content. I have purchased a backlinks package through HighQualityBacklinks.com which gave me approx. 150 PR3+ backlinks using our main keywords as anchor text. My question is this: What else can I do to get Google to recognize our backlinks and begin to hopefully make the leap to PR1. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Your search - link:http://www.usimmigration-services.com - did not match any documents. Suggestions:
Our organic results are basically non-existant unless you actually search for the name of the website. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I am willing to spend additional money for progress in this area but I would rather do the work myself. Thanks in advance, Robert |

| This. If you've only been doing this for a month or two, it's not realistic to expect Google to index all of your backlinks. I've had one site up for a year and a half and it has maybe 30% of its total backlinks indexed. That's just the way it goes. |

Unfortunately, you may never know how many links the search engines have actually indexed. Searching with the link: prefix is inaccurate, as is GWT. Yahoo Site Explorer is a little better, but there is no tool out there that will truly, accurately, give you an up to date list of links that are indexed. That said, you can put those links that you have built into an rss feed or ping them to get more or them crawled and indexed. You can also build links to your links, giving them an even better chance of getting seen. |

Robert, Great job taking action. ![]() A better method of checking for these links is to visit the cached version of the backlink page and see if it is cached with your link in place. The "link:" operator rarely returns much. However, you should start to see some backlinks in your Webmaster Tools account. Are you seeing any links in that report? All the best, Jack Duncan |

Thank you for the replies. Jeremy, It has only been a few months. I am in no way discouraged as I know it will take time and perseverance. James, It has only been a few months, I was just curious as to why Google doesn't show any of the links but as Casey states the way I am checking is not very accurate. Casey, Thank you for the information. I actually do have an RSS feed for all of the current links both through the backlinks service as well as the ones I have created. I have been only using the feed to verify that the links are still active though. I will search around for methods of pinging the links that are in the feed, thanks for the advice. I currently have a link exchange page that I could easily create outgoing links to my incoming links on. I have heard differing opinions on whether this is a good idea though. I will read more. Obviously my goal is not actually to see that Google has recognized my backlinks but rather to better my organic search results. I realize that is a huge issue but do you have any additional advice for organic results? Thanks, Robert |

Jack, GWT does show nearly all of the backlinks. I had attributed this to the fact that I have GWT linked to Analytics which shows the backlink sites as referrers. GWT showed the backlinks almost immediately which is good. I may have simply placed too much trust in the link: operator on Google. Of course is doesn't help that when I use the link: operator to look at competitor sites I see hundreds of links but they have been established for much longer. Thanks, Robert |

By the way, I would like to thank you all for your replies but unfortunately I don't have the juice yet to do so via the forum. As soon as I have enough posts I will go back and do so. Thanks, Robert |

What market are you reaching out to? Sounds like you have the english speaking market covered pretty well but, none in the spanish, french...etc. All your content focuses on the english speaking markets. If I was looking for your type of service/product, I would be more prone to "buy" through my native langauge. And...Google knows that. |

I hit the wrong button...what I was going to say.. I would not limit the site or the linking to only english. I would incorporate the other languages that you want attention from too. Google will see that and give you more attention and authority if you did. |

Debra, That's a great idea. The reason I haven't done that is because the immigration guides we create and sell are written in English and would be very difficult to translate or have translated in a way that would allow someone to understand them. I guess what I mean is that the immigration process is complicated enough without adding the extra confusion of translation. I will definitely think more about it though because that would open the site to additional buyers. As a side note, do you know how many posts I need to have before I can thank people for their useful responses? Thanks, Robert |

I know when I worked, years ago, in the hospitals we had interpreters that spoke spanish to explain treatments, etc. You could take on the same system in theroy. I understand that your product itself would be next to impossible to translate and keep the true meaning intact. By the time they hit the purchase button you could have already started hooking them up with a translation consultant. I'm talking about translating the content that I saw on your site and adding translated audios explaining thier purchase and what you are willing to do for them.

I think it would be reasonable to translate the information on the pages like you suggest. That is a great idea that got me thinking that I know someone at my day job who (for a few bucks) might take on the translation task. For anyone else who might be wondering, it looks like it only take 5-7 posts before you are able to thank these great folks for their help. Thanks, Robert

You won't see the result instantly because: 1. regarding the link: command > google does not display all of your backlinks in search result [More info] 2. regarding the pagerank > google only update the PageRank a few times a year [More info] |

The Google link:domain.com is worthless, you'll have better luck asking a magic 8 ball how many links you have.

Make efforts to get your links indexed, such as bookmarking them, combining them into RSS feeds and submitting or pinging the feeds, sending links to your backlinks, etc. You may want to look into Backlink Energizer.
