So, today I did a quick search on "St Georges Day" because I heard it was today, I have attached an image of the results. In the google search results I noticed something strange, there is an RTF file at the very top of Google with a rubbish description (not SEO optimized at all, and does a html head redirect!) and according to Yahoo only has 19 backlinks... Yet it is above the Wikipedia entry...huh?? What is going on here? Daniel |

For me it's below the news section on your screenshot. But that's still pretty high. One big thing it has going for it is an exact match domain. At this point in time, it still matters.

It depends on your location. For me, it's number 6 with the first two entries being Wikipedia. That exact match domain is also below news and images for St. Georges Day. Ken |

I get Wiki at the top and your site at 3. What country are you in? If not the USA, try Google.com (by clicking ' go to google.com' under the search bar, and then see what results you get.

Indeed, I am in the UK at the moment. I still find it quite shocking how that site can be so high, even if it is an exact match domain... Daniel |

Exact Match Domains carry serious weight if the keyword is not competitive. Won't get you much if it is more competitive, but that phrase is not very competitive at all. Note that the page is using a script to redirect to other sites. Seems to rotate to different landing pages. It's spam, in other words. Google will probably squash it if it gets reported (big if). |

It also depends on your browser preferences and browsing history. It happened to me too. You need to clear your history and search again, this could be the reson is showing so high up for you. Hope this helps.
