Panda Update By google - Discussion thread

hey guys,

Recently the google Panda update went live all over the world and it looks like most of the website's traffic have halved and earning reduced. I am going through same traumatized time and I come to you for help.

Literally my traffic has reduced by 50% and ranking dropped and in some cases my keywords have gone to page 5-6. I really don't have a clue right now, what to do and how to get the rankings back to where they were. And trust me when I say I had one of the fastest growing websites in my region and with the whole PANDA UPDATE things have just stopped or put to sudden halt by google.

What have you experience been since the recent updates? have your rankings gone down as well? How is your traffic behaving and what are the new technique and strategies you are adopting with the whole new algo put live all over the world.?

If you guys don't have a clue of what PANDA UPDATE is then you'll have to check out these websites before commenting anything on it really.

My traffic increased after the Panda/Farmer update.

We had some big fluctuations as well with our article directory and at some point traffic went down quite a bit as well but now it is all stabilized and traffic is back to normal and even better than it was before.

Something I read today is that the new update is also penalizing anything less than 300 words as 'content unusable to the reader' or something like that. My last two posts on my best performing blog just before the update were very short, and I got hit hard with the page ranking, so I'm going to remove those last 2 and see what happens over the next few weeks.

All in all, though, I welcome the changes. Google's heart is in the right place, but I guess we'll have to wait and see how effective and accurate the update is. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Maybe your content was top quality and on Site Seo was properly taken care of.. hahaha.

Maybe yeah! If done the required changes the traffic will only increase. The thing is I have been way too lazy with my websites now and its time to get things back to normal and even better than where they were

Yeah google definitely wants to keep clean websites at least on the first 3 pages of every search results. But the strange thing is that for the keyword I dropped to 3# from 1# was a bit absurd I think. The 1# website has nothing to do with the keyword. Not even slightly related. Thats what I am hating the most. Maybe goggle should look into it properly.

I had a curious thing happen: My rankings for my keywords became far more consistent across my site. I had been on page 1 for some, in the teens and twenties for others, and the thirties and forties for others, and now all of a sudden I am right around #10 to #15 for just about everything. It has been gratifying to see a keyword where I was #27 or #35 go up to #13 or #14, but on the other hand having a keyword where I was #9 for a long time drop to #11 and stay there no matter how many links I build is no fun at all.

The good news is according to my analytics, my daily traffic is still slowly increasing. Hopefully with increased traffic my pages will gain pagerank and advance in the SERPs.
