Are article directories still giving the Best SEO juice?

Since the content farms were hardly hit by the changes in Google I am just wondering if the article directories are still highly regarded for their high quality SEO juice?

Uhhh...Maybe you haven't heard...Article directories were busted in the nuts by the latest update...

The numbers speak for themselves even though the author tries to spin the stats by saying:

"Last month, we served 57 million unique visitors. Next month, that number may be in half. UPDATED March 14th 2011 2pm: We continue to serve in excess of 1 million daily visitors daily."

Notice the generic "in excess of" comment...and maybe saying "daily" once wasn't enough, I don't know.

So basically, yeah, their visits were cut in about half.

Article Directories = SEO Juice???

That is the first time I have heard THAT one.

I guess that means that the answer would be "No..."

I must have missed the bus on that one "high quality SEO juice".

When did EZA & similar sites ever help rank your own sites pages? They might have ranked their own EZA pages, but they were never much help ranking your own pages (passing any juice).
