Web directories have been around since the beginning of the World Wide Web in the early 1990's and are still recognized as an important channel for advertising businesses online. Quality website directories allow you to enter your preferred link title that best describes what your website is about. The anchor text, or Link Title, is an important factor in determining where your site appears for certain search terms in Google's search results. Quality website directories are human edited, it’s means that directory links are not approved automatically. Quality directory websites require manual submission not automated. Avoid automated directory submission software because there is a good chance that any directories that accept automated software driven submission are not going benefit your website. Guys, i would like to know your Suggestions...? |

Right, anyone can start their own business directory in an hour or less and many do. The problem with the directories listed in most automated tools is that they have no authority or page rank and pretty much count for nothing. I would never go under a PR3 directory for business. The automators are just filled with "junk" directories.

I agree at avoiding automated directories. Some of them might be mistaken for link farms as well. Either way, I try to use everything I can to build links. That includes directories.

I agree with manually submitting articles. I really think it depends what your article is about for it to benefit your website. I run a few websites and some of my articles don't even get one view and I am still wondering how the link back is benefiting my SERPS.

Directory submissions are a good way to gain backlinks, that is true, but you need to have a quality and well-developed content for the site you want to promote. Also, do ensure that you submit to quality, high editorial standards paid directories. Those type of directories will help you in the long run.
