PR does not matter to business-oriented sites and those webmasters should not focus on PR. But because so many people use it as a way to take a value to a domain they are trying to sell it is still used widely.

What really matters is SERPs, traffic, and the quality of the site, not the PR (in my opinion).

You need to educate your clients on better metrics. Show them the list of PR6-9 sites that were hurt with the Panda update. Then show them there are better metrics to see how well a site is doing.

Those metrics are Domain authority and Page authority. Those two metrics take a lot of factors into play and show a more accurate picture of the true health of the site.

And of course, traffic is really the only thing that I care about when buying a site. I dont even waste time going to a PR checker and entering a captcha.
