Default Increasing Site Authority of shopping cart site

I'm competing for a pretty competitive keyword, but one that is not impossible. I've done a lot of off page link building (articles, link pushes, blog commenting, profile linking) as well as on site optimization. I'm only ranked on page 2 of google for the main keyword after 3 months.

I'm wondering if any of you have any suggestions on how I can add more content to my site about the different products so that google views it as an authority site over others.

The product is related to roofing. I'm just looking for any quick suggestions. Anything is welcome as I may have forgotten something.

Time to figure out if you can BRAND what you are doing. BRAND = Authority in the eyes of people... and Google values what people think.

If you want authority you had better have a low bounce rate and a good share of time on site in relation to your industry.

Two simple things you can do to increase both:

1. Site Navigation - I prefer Top down and nice big Categories so people can go from page to page. Sometimes a simple sidebar with related keyword categories is good. Related content plug ins, top articles, etc. help as well.

2. Video or any kind of interactivity where people can participate will increase time on site.

Also it's a good idea to figure out who is NOT YOUR CUSTOMER. If you are focusing on a USA Market you sure don't need bots, spammers, and others who are not going to buy to even visit your site. So block them!

I block almost all non converting traffic with a simple plug in and sometimes in an .htacess file. I figure it they can't buy they are wasting my time and costing me money. That's a bit harsh to some, but that's reality.

What plugin do you use? Thanks for the idea about the video, haven't gone that route yet.

is your SEO good? try these article requirements for your keyword optimized sales page, site, blog, ect.. Very good SEO

The specific instructions that I give my writers are as follows

The article should have at least 500 words

Main keyword has to be mentioned at a density of 2% (10 times per 500 words)

3 other keywords (secondary kw) have to be mentioned at least twice in the whole article (each kw twice in the article for 3 keywords)

Please highlight the different kw you use in different colors in each article

Include 3 sub-titles – the main keyword should be in one and 2 others in the other 2 sub-titles

Main keyword should be mentioned in the 1st sentence and the last sentence

The 5 keywords are as follows. One is to be used as the primary keyword and 3 others to be used as secondaries in the article body and sub-titles as mentioned above
