Thank you for the list. But most of the SEs consider these words in case of high competition. Consider the following example:
Carpet Cleaning Brooklyn Google Search and
Carpet Cleaning in Brooklyn Search will give me different results.
This where the importance of so-called stop words come into effect.

This is absolutely correct from my experience. Look at any example of a high competition keyword, "best restaurants" for example, and then add a stop word (like "the best restaurants" in this case). The results, including the #1 spot, are different.

I found this when I search "Chinese Restaurant" with Google the other day, really want to know how that map thing work, or is it related to local search or something?
