Hey Warriors, I was just curious - I have been playing around with the keyword density idea for quite some time and can't really find a solid conclusion. Like Allan Says, says... "testing is the only guru". ![]() The only problem is that it's not very "scientific" and the results could be for any number of reasons. I hear a lot about people saying 4-5% is good - but is it just me, or is 4% tough as nails to get in without sounding moronic and like you're obviously shoving your keyword in any way possible? I do have a few "workarounds" like using the keywords in a list that's broken up over an article which can get it in there at least 4-5 more times. I've just started writing a mix between natural sounding content, and content that's a little more "forced" for good measure... until I get to the bottom of this. I am no SEO expert, although a few months back I decided to take the plunge (and if you haven't yourself, do it ASAP - it's a very important skill). It's not rocket science although it seems like it at times. Getting back on topic - does anyone have a solid conclusion for this (with case studies or experience if possible?). Don't just parrot what somebody else said! Results are what matter. Thanks for any help! Dean |

I noticed that the keyword density dosen't matter much anymore. It's very important to have your key in your headline and in the titletag. What works for me very good is lsi keywords in the content. |

I make sure to use the keyword in the first sentence and last sentence, but other than that, I writer for humans not the search engines and it seems to work for me. I think when you write for humans and you really understand the topic you are writing about, you will naturally use other lsi and related words which is sure to help. |

Keyword density does matter. Until recently 3 - 4% was the accepted density rate. Now that's too high. For example, Ezinearticles will only approve a density of 1%. However... Google has changed the rules the again, surprise, surprise. ( Is Google really being run by women?). Here's how to deal with the new rules. While I think that Google's new update is a positive thing, for the most part, this is one of the areas I can see causing problems for some people. For instance, if I have blog about teddy bears, obviously I'm going to have to use that phrase quite often. Comments on my blog will contain that phrase quite often, as well, as will advertisements and such. The doesn't necessarily mean I'm trying to stuff keywords! I just don't have any other words to call a teddy bear, but I could fall in ranking because of it.

On my own websites I think it is important. I did a test on some websites and wrote one article completely naturally and the others with 2-4% density. Guess which ones ranked faster and in higher positions.
