Hello, I'm still new here but I have been not that into replying to most of the posts but I do have some questions regarding Traffic Travis 4.

I have the trial version installed on my computer. How much does it cost for me to upgrade it to version 4 and how much does it cost? Is it a one time payment or a monthly subscription?

Also, Is the support for this software any good? I sent an email to them and was hoping for a quick reply.

Hello... I did not open TT4 for about 2 weeks knowing that they are still fixing the software. But now i see that there are several updates already - whenever i open my TT4, i does not updates. Is there a link that i can download the new version?

I just checked with one of the Traffic Travis developers, and he said "with v3 of tt you can't do an exact match there, however it wont take much to do so I have added it to the list for ttv3 things to do soon"

Hey, you can download it direct from here (you'll need your registration key):

It will automatically update once you install this version. I think the very first version the updates might not have been working correctly, so install this to fix things.

I know that TT4 unfortuately had a lot of bugs when it first came out. I was reading the blogs. Also I read the TT4 roadmap posted for keeping us up to date about bug fixing and adding new features.

I see now that a lot of the things that were being complained about being missing from TT4 and not working have been sorted out now. Also I see new stuff is coming out soon.

So I bought TT4 the other day and it seems to me to be pretty good. I was using TT3 for a couple of years now and TT4 is definitely a lot better. Plus from the looks of the roadmap it can only get better.

I contacted the support desk and got this.

Traffic Travis version 3 was pulling its data from the old Google tool. Google have since updated there data a few months ago. We have temporarily fallen back to our in-house keyword database but we are currently working out a reliable source for keyword search counts to use with Traffic Travis version 3.

However, we are using a different keyword source on our latest paid Traffic Travis version (TTV4). You'll find that the data on TTV4 is consistent with Google.

We apologize for the data inconsistencies on the free version. We are spending more time and effort into making this section better.

I use the G KW tool to get search volumes and then TT3 for comp analysis.
I bought TT4 yesterday based on the above information.

If TT4 was working the way it is supposed to it would be an awesome tool.
It's not.
The research/keyword tool is not working.
It returns a no data found on input keywords and then prompts to restart.
As it stands now TT4 for the way I use it is pretty much useless.

I don't know what happened, but after the past 2 updates, TT v4 has become essentially useless for me.

Rankings are just all wrong, not off a little, completely wrong. Not only that, keyword rankings are showing for domains that aren't in the project! For instance, the list of keywords for domain1.com are showing rankings and the best page for domain2.com. It had been working well, it just all went to hell 2 updates ago.

I've submitted a ticket and I hope to see improvements.

I have TT4 and I was one who had all kinds of problems when it was first issued. Most of the bugs seem to have been sorted. I do however have a question for Mark Ling and his co -owners. Many of the really cool SEO features if TT3 (even the free version) are not carried across into TT4. I am referring to things like being able to update your rankings at any time or search a phrase to see where your site ranks, being able to fine your search down to google in a particular country. I alos note that TT4 seems not to be getting google data because it maintains my sites have dropped out of the top 100 in google when I know they have not. Is there a bug fix coming for this and why oh why did so many of the popular features of TT3 get dropped?

I sympathise with you on this one. Google ranking seem to have disappeared altogether when I know my sites are still performing well in Google. Presumably this is a big they will get fixed. I have noticed a similar thing in Market Samurai which I also use for some research functions. Over all however, the integrity of TT4 is hugely better than when first launched. I could not get it to work for me at all for the first two weeks and had to install it three or four times.

I've been trying to do keyword analysis with TT for 4 days now without any success.
When I use the research keyword function it can't pick up any data. Then it prompts for a restart. After restart I get the same result. Nothing.
No response from support after 48 hours. I guess the support is broken as well because they promise 24 hour response time.
I'm going to hang on to it for at least it's warranty period and see how things progress.
I do think it will be a valuable research tool once it's working for me but for now it's going to be Market Samurai.

It's frustrating. I'm being patient, but I need to get this information. Not only that, but when info is suspect in one area, the rest comes into question.

For a while, some project didn't show an backlinks at all. That seems to be fixed. The Alexa rankings don't seem to update, but that's a small matter. I'm just hoping for a good update to come soon.

As for rank results - totally off when compared to another tool I use and actual listings in search engines. I will be using a back up keyword tool do compare what data I have just as a sanity check.

Sometimes the back links show - and the link finder too - just not consistently.

Seems it's "Ready - Shoot - Aim" with these developers. I'm on hold on a few fronts with some identified back ups in place - but boy, what a waste of time and energy waiting on these guys to get their ducks in a row. At this point - I don't trust the data...perhaps next year they will have it figured out.

Well it's been over a month now and I still cannot use tt4 to its full potential. I still have full confidence in Mark and his team that they will get this thing going. Just very frustrating, as I wanted to use this solely instead of using my free-trial of MS.

This tool will be great I just wish I would have waited awhile before purchasing straight away. Even though I paid much less than the normal price it still sucks shelling out money for a broken product. Lesson Learned!!!

I hear you Bizbop - this morning I downloaded an update with a note saying the research function had been fixed.

I just had a chance to fire it up to do some research and I see data!

I felt like I crashed into a concrete wall these past few days while daylight was burnin' and I was scrambling.

I'm way off task with my projects and need to regroup at this point. Been a bit of a bummer. I too am holding out for a happy ending with TT.....but am still reviewing alternatives that look promising. That was a huge lesson - always have a back up...

Now if I could just get my wp instantpay paypal approval I'd be cookin' with gas ;0

You can imagine my initial glee...

Until I checked a key word with a 95% keyword competition and a PPC value of over $9.00...that's "easy" too...

They're all easy.

I've had TT V4 for 6 weeks now, got to say it has been a big disappointment, it was highly recomended by a respected super affiliate who had been using V3

I have not been able to use it for any serious work, things that work in one release are broken in the next

Yes I'm using the latest release, V3178, now the SEO Difficulty rating for every keyword is given as Easy, the dashboard does not list keywords for which I know I'm #2 or #3 etc, the list goes on, plus there seems to be some problems with it locking up my PC from time to time

To cap it off the documentation for the product is totally out of date and inadequate, are we supposed to figure out for ourselves what all the column headers really mean and how to apply them?

I'm reaching for the refund button unless something happens soon, potentially a great product but not right now, will check it out again in maybe 6 months!

I've been pretty much staying out of this, since when it works I like the tool (and I use TT3 a lot), and I'm assuming it will come around. I most often use it to keep track of my rankings, and that function has been totally useless for the last week or two.

I have to say that if you are thinking of buying, wait and watch this thread, since I'd guess that if you buy and are disappointed Mark might lose a customer for good.

If anyone knows, though, I would like to know just exactly how the traffic potential metric is calculated. That looks like it would be handy information if it actually meant anything.

I wish the crew luck on getting this sorted.

I foreget to read all reviews here before I purchased and I purchased two days ago (TT V4.0.0.3182), VERY disappointed. Lot of basic search and SEO functions are not even working. For example, I search the keywords and the "InAnchor" and "InTitle" field are all blank, after I click "SEO difficulty" caculated result, it suppose bring up the detail top 10 ranking pages of your competitor website info, but after double click, nothing happen. Without SEO details page, this tools is useless. and problems keep on.......
Can't understand, how can they made a free version so good and the TT V4 pro version so unuseable. How can they even pass the software testing and QA phase? After all these people complain here and still can't have the major search function working I think TT are putting their "PAST Good" reputation on risk. IMHO they are going to lose whole bunch of past and future customers for sure if they don't fix the problem soon.
Hurry up, find out the solutions FAST before it too late....

I got a refund on TTv4 but to be fair, I've found their support very prompt and they've been fixing bugs extremely quickly.

The only reason why I asked for a refund is I found their search engine ranking tools and competitor analysis tools were not as good as other individual programs (CuteRank and Market Samurai).

But if you have a limited budget then I think Traffic Travis v4 is a good choice.

Sorry, two months after the launch fiasco, I'm finding the program as bad as ever, or worse.

Things seem to get fixed in one release, then break again in another. Search ranking seemed to be working at first, but now it's handing me data that I can plainly see is all wrong, just by checking the search engines manually on a few keywords.

Backlink checking hasn't worked completely for me from the start - a site of mine with over 700 backlinks in Yahoo has NONE in Traffic Travis 4. About a month ago, they mentioned that backlink source would be selectable in the next release. If this feature is there I certainly can't find it.

TT4 crashes so much I can't keep count, and not just when I'm using it. Sometimes during the day it will suddenly pop up with "Sorry, no results for that query" and crash.

What really annoys me is that the company has, in my view, done nothing of substance to compensate early adopters who got burned. Earlier in this thread I suggested a free, temporary 3Pro license to keep folks happy until 4Pro was really ready. This idea was not addressed. Now I'm not sure it would have done any good anyway. If TT4 is still totally broken after almost 60 days, it may be a long time before it actually works.

Barring something extraordinary happening in the next day or so, I'm getting a refund.

unfotunately not...not all bugs are fixed!!!

- Keyword research is still broken
- Keyword ranking seems to still have some problems
- Some minor bugs/poorly features still exists

Anyway I looked at their roadmap page (Traffic Travis v4 Roadmap) right now and I found release dates updated and a comment from Nick Fauchelle (one of their main developers) too that talks about some problems they had due the recent hearthquake in their city...

Let them work...I know the software is still buggy and hangs sometimes but I'm still having trust in them...

yeah Mark the owner is totally legit and i used the free TT in the past and thought it was really good. Does the new version offer backlink check on websites...like yahoo backlink checker did?

TT3 was excellent, even the free one.

BUT TT4 is not good, unstable and usually wrong. Perhaps it will be fixed in upcoming versions. Do not give up on this *YET*.
