Redirect links form Digg and Stumbleupon?? -BLackhati?

My company recently hired a link builder that create links on social bookmarking sites like Digg.com and Stumbleupon. When I received the report from a link builder, I clicked on the unique url to the Digg or Stumbleupon post. When I clicked on the link it automatically redirects back to my site.

Is the redirect happening because a code was put to redirect back to our site? Or is there a reason that digg and stumbleupon are redirecting my posts back to my site?

Is this normal, since I never seen this before? Is this a black hat technique the link builder is doing?

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
