I flipped about 5 adsense sites last week. I still do the hosting for next year, so I have changed nothing but the adsense ID. But the new owner sees no page impressions and no earnings, for days now except for one site. The visitor stats on the blog have not changed. Any Idea how this is possible? Or more important: how to solve this? |

Replacing the adsense ID is a bad idea. Google strongly cautions you not to do that. It's like altering the code. It's just not a good practice. Besides, if you made the code have any customization, like name, channel, etc., what do you think is going to happen? You can't interchange things just by replacing the ID. The new ID would have no such channel, and you get exactly what you got. Replace the whole code with the new code generated by the new person's adsense account. Now if you did replace the whole code, what kinds of promotions did you do in the past? Sometimes it's up to the new owner to keep up the momentum. Paul |

Oops, WF didn't sent me the email message that someone responded, so I didn't notice :-( I am sorry for not responding (I was already thinking that people hated those NooB questions) I did change the whole code so that is not the problem. The new owner and me decided to create url channels and custom channels on his account for every website and this did solve the problem for now. The adsense click earnings did lower with about 50% though. My traffic source is all organic search engine visitors. No promotions, same amount of visitors. How do you change the adsense code when you flip a site? |
