Whitehouse.gov Backlink?

I'm using SEO Spyglass and interestingly enough, today a backlink popped up in my analysis from whitehouse.gov. The site has a PR10 and SEO Spyglass says it's giving me link juice. However, it says No(Link Missing) so I'm not sure what to make of this.

Obviously a backlink from a PR10 .gov would be huge but it seems too good to be true and I'm 99.9% sure this won't end up helping me. Any benefit from this?

Sometimes it will show because you might posted a comment on some other blog that is related to whitehouse official site..
Don't worry about that.These missing links are still showing in your backlinks list but dont harm you.

The same thing happened to me and all of the sites I have checked through my SEO spyglass!! it is odd...........but fun ........I assume a mistake and will disappear sooner or later??

This seems to happen to me A LOT when using SEO Spyglass.
It's a great tool when it works, but I ALWAYS ignore any that No(Link Missing), because i've found that it's how it says it is... There is no link, the link is missing.

Just a fault with SEOSpyglass i think.

You may have a valid point there. Although, SEO Spyglass definitely returns extremely valid results when I check for backlinks from Yahoo.

I gave up on SEO spyglass for the reason that it seems to be very temprimental and give these random results sometimes. When it works it is good though.

Imagine if your backlinks consisted of government websites? How huge would that be!

I'm not sure what's going on here, but I wouldn't mind backlinks with whitehouse.gov

I got one backlink to Whitehouse gov as well. I wish it were true for the great link juice but I think it is a Spyglass glitch.

.gov backlinks are so helpful for ranking your page.

I'm guessing its a glitch as whitehouse.gov does not accept comments and the posts there are quite official so I couldn't see the editor writing a post and linking to all of your random websites.

Hehe, IMO it is the recent update if so many ppl have encountered this.

I did some research on a competitor and he had this damn PR 10 .gov whitehouse backlink. I thought - damn, I want one too. How the ... did he do that.

It appears that is just a bug in spyglass.

Are you guys using the free version?

I also am using seo spyglass and have seen the whitehouse link on my site. i check my competitors and they also have it. Wondered if anyone has found out exactly what this is yet. Might contact seo spyglass and ask them. interesting tho!!

Yup, this is happening in both the free and paid versions. I've been noticing it for about the past week on EVERY website whose backlinks I have checked - some of which were my sites, but mostly competitors sites. So it's gotta just be a glitch of some sort.

If the link is missing, it might have been removed, and you would be right, no link juice would be flowing your way
