Hello everyone, i am new to this forum, looking forward to give SEO services in here and also i want to make some amount from Google adsense, i was wondering with what site, i should start my adsense business? right now i have a free blog (not paid one) i get more than 1K page-views in just one day on it, so my question is.. Will a blog give me more CTR? or some other type of site like Forums or whatever others are.. and also how much can i earn with that amount of Page-views on my blog? 2nd Question: I want to convert my current blog to paid one, will it effect my traffic since address is going to change from .blogspot.com to .com? is there any way to change it into paid one without effecting Traffic? Thanks |

Hi ashcarter, How much earn will vary a great deal depending on the type of content, topic, layout, traffic source and targeted keywords. Perhaps the most significant variable is your source of traffic. Where your traffic comes from, how well targeted and the commercial intent of that traffic will be the primary factors in your earnings. |

Hi ashcarter, To answer you second question, If you change your domain you are starting over from scratch with rankings and backlinks. If you could manage to keep your old pages active and redirect traffic to the new pages on your new website it will help get the new website off the ground quicker. |

There is a Catch 22 situation as regards CTR. If you have high quality content pages with lots of information visitors are less likely to exit thru the ads. With minimal information about the subject visitors are more likely to click on th ads to find out more. You may think the latter is the way to make more bucks but that is a short term view. The more quality content you have on your site, the more sites will link to you. This will gradually raise your site ranking without the need for SEO.

less than 0.5%?? what kind of adsense sites do you make.. my CTR is usually 10-12% on adsense sites and tom, i disagree i can provide useful information on the topic but not necessarily sell anything. someone with commercial intent may be looking to buy something, and after learning something about the product or checking certain specific details ends up clicking an ad because i didnt try to sell anything on my site if optimized properly, high quality articles shouldnt put a damper on your CTR. its all about ad placement, colors, commercial intent, and of course, traffic source |

| The first most obvious problem is that you are targeting smart educated folks. Those individuals are less likely to click on ads in my opinion. It is also best to mix your ads in with your content so they flow together. You have a big list of context links in the middle, there should be some google ads in there too. One big box of ads on the right will be overlooked.

For high traffic sites CTR generally falls between 0.4%-1.0% (a rough idea). To increase your earning you need to experiment with different ad formats and positions.
