Should we avoid buying backlinks?

As generating backlinks is a tedious and time consuming task, you might be tempted to BUY backlinks. The question is though, do Google and the other major search engines like backlinks that are paid for, or could you get penalized for buying links?

What do you think (or know) about this?

I can only speak for my self, but i do not never every buy backlinks, expectingly if the backlinks are junk.

I prefer to go out there and go get quality back-links from other websites that are related to my site's niche, that way the SE's can rank your website accordingly in terms of relevance

Think about it like this... the more Quality Back links you have that are related to your sites niche, the better off your site is in the long run.

Thus resulting in your site getting higher indexing, prior that your site meets the SE's on - page Optimization criteria

of course google will tell you buying links is bad

but all large players on the web do....

but will it help? depends on how competative

you might be better off buying traffic through ppc with that money
