Default seo importance?

hi there
it's a fact that only a combination of on-site and off-site seo can bring proper results on SERP. But some seo guys often argue that if we do strong off-site optimization the websites can rank well without proper on-site care.

What do you think about this? How important is on-site seo in your view?

It has some truth in it if your on-site factors are in a reasonable "shape". Today, if your site has an absolute terrible on-site SEO then it will be almost impossible to rank high!

Both need to be done unfortunately. Gone are the days where just having a great site are enough. You need a great site, proper on-site SEO, and off-site promotion/links. Without a three prong attack to target your keywords, you will fall behind someone else that will.

there is a boost factor you could achieve by pumping a bunch of links and articles and other factors targeting a website. This is how a site gets noticed to start with and then Google starts judging user feedback scores about the site. It's like a race and you have to qualify for the race by getting enough inbound links(votes) to start with.

by continuing to flood a site with links you could keep a site boosted to a degree with minimal on-site optimization.

However, I think those days are over with the arrival of panda.

Off page is 80-90% of all SEO. You must spend most of your money there.

I will explain in details that you understand basics because at the moment you don’t know what you are talking.

On page SEO is what you say about you. Real life example - you want to find the job and in interview you talk about yourself that you are good at all areas, right? This is on page what you say about yourself.

Off page is what others are saying about you. Real life example - employer calls to your previous employers and asks about you? This is off page what others are saying about you.

Now guess which one is more important: what you say about yourself or what others are saying about you?

If the competition is low Google will show you even in the 1 place because Google have no other valid options. But if competition is tight - for example in today world it is tighter than it was 1 year back.

Another real life example - you want to hire freelancer for SEO services. One person say that he is so good in SEO and knows everything, but his feedback score is low with comments like ‘he don’t know SEO at all’. I can predict with 100% that you never hire this person. This is our normal behavior. This is why eBay is so popular with their feedback system.

Same with Google my friend, believe me off page is the critical part of all SEO and you must invest most of your money there.

On page and off page SEO both are important to improve ranking in SERP's, without any one your gaining to aim very difficult, you can not ignore any one, I think importance of ratio 40% On page and 60% off page.

You need to do both onsite and offsite because everything counts.

That said, yes it is possible to rank with no onpage SEO for your keyword.

How else did Adobe Flash Player rank number one for the term "click here" despite no onpage focus to that keyword?

It's peoples backlinks that say "click here to download flash" that put this page here.

Cheers,
Dave

It is an abbreviation for Search Engine Optimization. What exactly does SEO do? It is the method of analyzing and constructing individual web pages, as well as entire sites, so that they can be discovered, analyzed, and then indexed by various search engines.SEO can make the content of your web pages more relevant, more attractive, and more easily read by search engines and their crawling and indexing software.

Both onpage and offpage optimization is required to gain higher ranking. There is always a limit to it. A site can have maximum onpage perfection then the only way to rank higher is offpage.
Been there done that!

SEO is very important for websites. When you are creating a new website, you need to do proper promotion methods to optimize your site.Otherwise it wont get any visitors. For this purpose, you need SEO techniques. There are two techniques available On Page and Off Page SEO.

In On page you need to give more priority to the contents of your website.Means you need to keep good quality contents and you also need to modify them frequently to get noticed by the Google. In Off page you need to follow the methods like blog posting, article posting, classified posting, social book marking, forum posting, directory submission and also press release submission.

By using all the above methods, it will help to increase the Page Rank and also the number of back links to your site.In a result of that you will get a better indexing and simultaneously good business.

I can outrank any web page with 0 backlinks with my title and backlinks only. Most people don't understand SEO and scratching the surface. Backlinks are the core if you need to compete. Of course onpage really matters but like I said around 20-80, but not 60-40. Nonsence.

You need both onpage and offpage optimization in order to rank good on Google and the rest of the search engines.

Content is important and is a big SEO factor. Keyword relevancy on both onpage content and backlinks from other sites are factors for top page rankings.

I think on-page SEO is not just for relevance. I managed to rank pretty high for my low-competition keywords with just the site set up and no backlinks.

I dont see miracle here, this is how it works.

You never rank well for competitive keyword with onpage only, but I rank with title, few words in copy and offpage very well.

Correct. I hardly think that you'd survive in the internet market you would erase on-site SEO on the picture. It's simply necessary for maintaining our ranking that's why it's very important.

hello,
from my point of view both on site optimization and off site optimization are vital parts to increase your pagerank and traffic .on site optimization with there titles, descriptions, content, headers, alt tags, navigation, URL naming, load speed can make your site more friendly to both visitors and search engines and in off site optimization you can buy high pagerank links on high authority sites which will increase the traffic on your sites.

On site seo matters a LOT in my opinion. I have built a site consisting of about 1,000,000 pages that updates itself automatically. It has like 2 inlinks from no fancy places at all. And it receives 3-4k unique visitors every day.
