Dear Warriors,


Has any of you had any success promoting "affiliate products"

using Google Addwords? I know There is a whole lot of money

be made, but I have also heard a lot of negativity...for

instance " No matter What you do Google will shut you down, Even the excerpts gave up!" and things in that manner.

Now no matter what people say, i will have to see for myself. However I would love to hear from you, your experience and your advice

If you don't have money to spare when you start up, don't throw it at AdWords. There are plenty of free ways to advertise.

People who say that are probably trying to sell you on their own product or service.

Advertising like that is great but it isn't as straight forward as Ad --> Aff Sales Page. It's more like Ad --> Website --> Article --> Opt in --> Sales Letter --> Aff Sales Page lol

You should never spend money on adwords for a new website. I repeat never. Options like google Adwords, are expensive, and like the poster above me said there are better options. If you have a good solid product that people want, then most of your promoting could be by word of mouth. Consider finding a few people that would find your product and services worthly, and then give it to them for free, and ask them to spread the word.

There are other ideas out there, try the link in my sig, there are a lot of great articles there to get you started.

Yeah, don't use them, if possible. Make a linkwheel, pointing tier one hub pages like Squidoo and Hubpages to your site and then writing articles that point to your tier one pages. Then build backlinks to the pages over time. Free traffic!

AdWords -> Squeezepage -> Sell affiliate products to list?

$25 worth of Adwords makes me $400+ so there is money in Adwords, I have made up to $1000 on a $25 spend.

well yes if you use the right keywords that are more targeted and less expensive Basically if your able to get cheap converting clicks!

You have to make many calculations in order to make money with Adwords. This is not for newbies.

Create Squidoo lenses, write articles, write blog comments… there are many free options for promoting your work.

Well, in terms of bringing traffic, you would probably do okay. Conversions are another story.

I've been ban from Adwords because I advertised a product and now I can't be unbanned because I didn't used a domain to hide the website. If they don't like it, you have to shut down your website. If you don't have control, they don't care.

If you put your affiliate link to Google, their is a chance you get banned unless if you take VERY VERY clean products. I've heard they banned everything from Clickbank but I think a lot of people are still promoting them.

If you promote your own page with your affiliate link, you will be clear no question.

Not everything, still advertising several clickbank product in my google account, but it's the 3rd one

You can be sure anything with recurring billing and any product in the "make money" category will get you banned.

Even worse, it doesn't matter if you got a single impression or click, if you ever ran the campaign. Once you upload it, it's in their upload protocol and that's what they look at only. So, one wrong ad, even if you deleted it, and you are out. It's the arrogance of an almost perfect monopoly...

Yes, that is true.

Read their TOS before playing.

1. No thin sites
2. Avoid straight squeeze pages. (thin)
3. Make content landing pages.
4. Have your admin pages present.
5. Avoid niches that 'smell' like hype-fests.
6. No pop ups on destination url.

Google double your datng and see how Eben does his landing page. Model
that and you'll be fine. Takes a little more work, but not a tremendous
amount. That is a 'content landing page' optimized for adwords.

Really just a smaller site. But you have to send people to something - it's
a landing page with more behind it.

Great Job, on utilizing adwords to their full potential. However your success is usually not the case for most people until they have found "Those Secrets" to make their website a selling machine. It is a lot easier to use adwords, then putting in the hard work to promote your site, but think what your profit could be if all that traffic was for free?

True, the real problem I see is that the formula for Adwords kinda became: Either Google likes you OR you make money. You have to remove alot of things that improve conversions and that's with margins which are already very slim in some niches anyway. Each additional click means less sales and even a landing page with high quality content will get slapped if it's classified as "doorway page"...and from Google's point of view a page that has no real choices except "Buy Now" is a classic doorway.

Can you give some examples of what you need to remove that improves
conversions? Just curious.

You can also improve conversions in other ways but will take some time.
But sure, I guess for some things once people are gone, they're gone, and
a list cannot be built in all niches, etc.

Can you show me an example of a high quality content small site that was
slapped as a doorway page?

"... no real choices... " Meaning other than reading high quality content?

Obviously, there are too many niches and situations to be able to say all
can be promoted successfully (at this point) using adwords. I don't know,
but I am hard pressed to believe a destination url cannot be made to work
at adwords.

So, that's why I'm curious to see examples.

If you are in love with statistics and numbers then adwords is for you. If you don't know what statistics are much less how to figure them out, run away!

Your best bet is to build some blogs, or write articles or something to get your feet wet. If you jump into adwords without knowing what you are doing it will suck you dry!
