Default Has video marketing been affected by the recent Google updates

My articles no longer rank so I wanted to try video marketing, have these been affected or are videos still ranking well?

I want to outsource some video work. What would be the typical job requirements so I can draw up a job description:

1. Create a video with keyword I provide and tags I will provide.
2. Submit to...?
3. Backlink work...?

If anyone can offer me any ideas of where I should look to outsource this and the type of work I should be asking them to do will be really appreciated.
Thanks

I read something recently that said YouTube was one of the "winners" in the recent reshuffling. ... Can't remember where the article was now.

Well considering YouTube and Google are the same company, YouTube was always going to win out on a reshuffle!

Keep on recording those vids!

I have been getting pretty good results with video for over 1 year now and it seams that the recent update hasn't affected my video rankings at all.

Right now, i have 2 video editors working for me full time but 1 year ago i outsourced most of my stuff at GURU.com

Here's some things you need to keep in mind if you like you're videos to rank on the 1st page of Google.

When you produce your video make sure that you're video is more than 1 min long.
Name the video file with the keyword you would like to rank for.

Example:Keyword.mp4

Use you're keyword at the start of the video title.

Example:Keyword Here - Who else wants to loose weight fast?

Use your keyword in the description and tags a couple of times (no more than 4 times)

I only use YouTube now, I've tried other sites but I'm getting the best results with YouTube so I just don't bother anymore with other sites.

This next part is very crucial if you like your videos to rank fast.

Go to fiverr.com and buy a service that delivers human views, likes and comments ...it will cost you $5 but it's defiantly worth it... this will give your video boost and momentum.

Next you need to build backlinks to your video I use MAN (My Article Network) the cool thing with MAN is that you can publish spinnable articles and embed videos within the article so everytime you're article get's published you're video will be embedded in that blog post.

This gives you're videos very powerful backlinks... now because most of the videos on YouTube don't have backlinks you'll be able to outrank them pretty fast.

This is what i personally do to rank videos and it has been working for me extremely well.

Now getting videos to convert it's another thing...(just make sure that you have some type of call to action)...this is a very long process to be explained in this post

Hope this helps

Olson

I currently have several videos on the first page of Google using my own player. Youtube is not necessary for your video to rank in Google. Article marketing strategies should also be applied to videos. Include keywords in your title, description, url and content. The later, content, is very important. Most people do not use keyword rich content to describe the video.

I realized there was an issue with videos placing high in the search engines and created a video version based of article directories. Features include:
  • Youtube and Vimeo supported files
  • Automatic RSS submissions
  • 2 Self serving links (website & affiliate)
  • Avatar linked to your profile
  • Search Engine Friendly Permanent Links
  • Social Bookmarking
  • Search engine optimized content for SERP
Its still in Beta testing but feel free to try it out. Your videos have a good chance of SERP using this format.

Yep Youtube is not necessary and you can use you're own player i totally agree with you...i use this technique all the time and i do that when i want to redirect traffic to a presell page.

For example, here's how i do it:

I crate an image with a call to action:

Example:Learn How To Train Your Dog Now!

Also in this image i make sure that i have picture of dog, so that when Google indexes the video i have a clear image which is stands out together with the call to action.

Next i record this image with camtesia for about 1min & 30 sec...I also add music before i export this into an mp4 file.

When this is done i upload the video to my server. On my blog I use the flashvideo player plugin and i insert the video in the blog post that I like.

On the blog I have the Google Video Site Map plugin installed this is a paid plugin it's about $97 but it's totally worth it...you can also use a free plugin which you can get from the wordpress plugin directory...I think it's called Google Video Sitemaps (XML).

Also you need to submit your video sitemap to your Google Webmaster account. So that you're videos can be index at lighting speed

After you publish the post all you have to do is build links and Google will index your post and video when this happens Google thinks that the image you created is a video file (which technical it is...the only thing is that it's one image turned into a video format)

This technique will force Google to show your video in the video spot.

Another thing that i do is that i hide this video using the expanding text plugin so that when i get traffic to the specif page the visitors start to read my presell and they don't see a video at all.

This is a nice technique that i use to increase my conversions and when i don't have time to crate a full video.

This technique works just as well if you have a full video and you publish this on your site.

The only difference is that this time you have a full normal video that peeple can watch. You need the plugins tho, if you want you're video to be index and show on the first page fast.

Now the downside of this technique is that you'll be missing out on the traffic that you'll get if you were to do this with YouTube. Because when you apply the techniques that i made clear in the first post your video will also rank in the YouTube main search and in the relevant videos section. This will send you more traffic.

Now, everything depends on the niche that you're in and what you are trying to achieve.

Always try to experiment and see what works best.

Olson.
