Try to get more quality backlinks that'll help your site to improve page rank. It's also depned on other factors like site content, domain age etc.

I used to think this as well... I was taught that you should backlink your inner-pages (not just your homepage) and your PR would rise. Well... after a few years of testing I've concluded that this theory is only PARTLY right. I have 2 domains that I have not sent a bcaklink to in a couple years, and both are PR3. Your PR will rise with good content... frequent visitors... and TIME. DeShon |

Well, it depends upon the quality of your work. Aside from Google takes quite a long time in ranking a site, you have to be patient and just continue what you are doing.

Hi jason100, Google updates your PR in near real-time. If you have been earning quality backlinks then your PR has been accumulating. However, you cannot see your real PR except after Google exports the data to the toolbar dataset. They usually export the data 3 or 4 times a year and they do not stick to a regular schedule. So there is no way to know your real PR except for a brief period immediately following a toolbar data update. |

Yeah, PR fluctuates a lot. Plus, while it's important, I don't really think it's the be-all-end-all to high rankings. Frequently, you'll see sites with a lower PR outranking sites with a higher PR due to their content, keywords, domain, and on-page optimization.
