Yup, I have been working hard to get my site up in Google and last week I finally got to page one at the very bottom and now I am nowhere to be found for that keyword and another one. I was page one #5 position for the other one and now I am nowhere to be found. Needless to say I don't know if they will ever come back. I am not de-indexed because I put in other keywords and I am there but for those 2 I am nowhere to be found. I was doing okay by myself getting backlinks but then I bought 2 fiverr gigs and I will NEVER do that again!!! They made me disappear and I don't know if I will ever come back. I am going to keep working on backlinks MYSELF in the link pushing fashion but I will do it all myself. I will collect links for web 2.0 sites, auto and non auto article directories, mini blogs, document sharing sites, etc. It is very disheartening because I worked so hard and I heard such good things about fiverr gigs but I guess you live and learn. ![]() Marsha |

You're probably sandboxed. I had a site that did that but don't worry you'll come back soon.

If it's a relatively new site -- less than a year old, then you're probably sandboxed. This happens quite often, and especially after an influx of backlinks. The good news is that your site will almost always come back. And usually higher than before. Most of the time this is a very good sign. (that is, if you can stand the stress of waiting for it to come back). |

Good, I'm glad to hear it will come back and I will slowly keep adding backlinks. It's just depressing. My site is 3 years old but I have never actually targeted keywords or made any backlinks on it before. I will keep backlinking and I hope it does come back for those 2 keywords! Marsha |

I had one five years old do the same thing recently. Finally make it to page one - # 9 then poof. It came back after 2 weeks on page 8. 3 days later it's on page 4 so i would say it's gradully moving back towards page one. To see your hard work disappear, especially with so much on the line is a sad moment. It will come back though. Just give it a little time. |

I wouldn't say you're sandboxed. (It takes a lot of effort to get sandboxed.) I'd lean more towards it being the Google dance. I've had sites all but vanish for a week or two, only to come back stronger.

I have had this happen to me for a very large established site. One day nothing a few days later and ater alot of stress and time trying to figure out what went wrong it just came back again. It is scary but happens. Welcome to the dance (hopefully).

| Your site is dancing, that is all! A sudden influx of links to a new site will cause this to happen. It will come back, and usually in a stronger position.

i've had this with a number of my sites, and week by week it seems one ore two more drop off. Most of them are newish (1-3 months) but im not sure that qualifies as new. Some are as old as 8 months, one having been ranked #1 for its search term for over 6 months, disappeared for that search term just like all the other sites. I currently have 18 web sites in this "sate of being." You can imagine the income i'm missing out on... They are all still indexed however. What's funny is this lasts for months on end, and sometimes i'll see one site come back to its position for only a couple days, only to disappear again for months. Whatever this is i hope they will all eventually come back, unfortunately if they keep dropping off at this rate my entire site portfolio will be destroyed within the next month or two. And by destroyed i mean still indexed but not ranking anywhere in sight for any of their search terms. I have on idea what causes this to happen. The ONLY common factor that i can think of with all these sites is that i haven't done much backlinking at all to any of them recently. It's the only factor they all share. I stopped backlinking because they all ranked well. One site that was in position #1 had been there for over 4 months, and therefore i haven't done a single backlink to it in that time. On the other hand, some sites are much newer and still drop off the rankings for search terms. So i'm not sure if this is a factor at all. I will go back to trying backlinks to them and see what happens over time. The only glimmer of hope out of all of this is to see a site come back for 3 days only to disappear again for a month. While that sucks, it really makes me think its not a penalty of any kind, but rather just something with the google agl's or whatever. We'll see. I wish i knew what would cause a site to be gone for a month, back for 3 days, and gone for another month. Please keep us updated on yours. |

I'm curious to know what eliminating the tags from my wordpress blog posts does. I heard the same thing from someone else just last week, but he didn't know what it was supposed to accomplish. Thanks Jay

I have exactly the same thing happening to one of my sites now. It vanished from SERPs. Site is still indexed though. How long does the dance usually end and are there anything we can do to get out of this dance earlier? I have seen people posting about their sites being dropped to #400, #532 or so. Question is, how do you guys determine this? Run a manual check? Most tools I came across only allows you to check the top #100. Thanks. |

Okay, my site disappeared on May 10th and today I checked out Scroogle Scrapper and I am no longer sitting at #663 but at #40!! My site did come back!!! I really didn't do much because I have been so busy but I won't be doing anything shady from here on out. I want to get back to page 1 and I will but I will do it the way I did before. Sort of using the Link Pushing Strategy and it really does work. Marsha |

How do you use Scroogle Scrapper anyway? I've checked the site but it only allows me to check the top 100 rankings?

Sometimes site will disappear for a few days and then they'll reappear with a higher ranking. I've had this issue several times and although it may disheartening, I still kept doing my linking structures and sure enough when it appeared back it was in a better ranking than previous days.

I think you have to wait for a week as one of my new site suddenly disappeared for its main keyword and was nowhere in top 1000. I thought it was sandboxed but after a weak it was back at the same place. If your site is new then you can expect such thing with your site as well. Try adding some content to your site and then place a link to those desired pages(or home page) so that Google may crawl your pages again. Updating content on previous pages can also be helpful.
