Default Inbound Links

Please have patience because I am new to SEO. From what I understand, if I have more than 1 inbound link from one web page the value of those links is reduced. I have two questions relating to this:

1) If I have four inbound links coming from four different pages of one website will the value of those four links be reduced?

2) Apparently, posting in a "dofollow" forum and having a link to my website in my signature counts as creating an inbound link. If I post multiple times in a single forum topic and have a link to my web page in my signature, will the values of those inbound links be reduced?

Hi,
I strongly do agree with Simonbuzz that having more links from the same website is not an effective thing. There are many other ways to get inbound links on different website and that all depends upon your comment quality. If quality is good than it will more effective thing for your link approvals and index in Google as well.

A lot of misinformation on this thread.....

Think of it like this - Every page has a certain amount of 'link juice.' That link juice is then transferred over to the sites the page links to. So more links = less link juice per link

It's still a really good idea to add multiple links on a page. A typical web page has a ton of links on it. So you really won't devalue the amount of juice per link by adding a couple extra.

Also, google gives extra link juice to the links that appear early on in the page. (something to consider).

=======================================

As for the statement that 'multiple links from the same website is a bad thing' ... that's completely incorrect.

There is what's called 'diminishing returns' for posting multiple links from the same site. Ie. each link is worth slighltly less with each additional link.... but that does not mean that each link is worthless. Only that the 50th link is not as powerful as the first one you submitted.

Is it a waste of time to submit multiple links to one site? that depends - you will still get some value (traffic and link juice). But if you can just as easily get a link from a fresh domain, than you may want to start backlinking elsewhere.

I can't believe some people think that ONLY one link counts. Senuke is a very popular backlink tool right now, and it's built around submitting to the EXACT same sites over and over again.

Plus, many marketers submit articles to the same directories over and over again (like EZA, for example)

I can tell you from personal testing that as long as link velocity is reasonable, the more links the better.

Good luck .... and go 'backlink' crazy!

Although getting too many links from a from to our website have no worth and does not add more in your page ranking but on the other hand we get much traffic to our website through these signature links. Which adds much in our income and increase the conversion rate. I think the main objective of our websites is to increase our business and income which is gained through the forums.

ahhh....

Why do people think there is ZERO link juice from multiple links... There is LESS link juice, but still juice nonetheless.

The thing about signature links is that the pages have very small amount of pr or link juice, so you'd need a very large number of them to make any significant SEO difference. I agree with your part about traffic.

But

2000 signature links > 1 signature link

in terms of traffic AND SEO
