Default Does this tool exist? (Determine what keywords a given page is ranking for)

I have MS, and a trial version of TT (probably an older one), and there are trial versions of Rank Checker & the like, but all of them that I've seen so far require you to enter your URL and the keywords you want checked...

But I SWEAR I found something a while back (on a public machine so no browser history) that would look at a given page and give you a report on what keywords are actually ranking in the SERPs for that page.

Ideally, it would go through all the pages in your domain/site to do that, but I've heard a few times where people discovered (how??) that a page was ranking for keywords they hadn't even expected or thought of.

Am I missing something in the tools mentioned above? I did a Google search and found more sites that want keyword(s) + the URL, but I want to find out which keywords are getting the love from my page(s).

Anyone know of one? (preferably free or low cost, of course... )

Take a look at SEMRush, it will do what you ask. There is a free service which gives you a few keywords a site is ranking for and a paid version which gives a load of keywords plus data.
SEMRush - service for competitors research, shows Google organic and AdWords keywords for any site or domain

It's not always what the site ranks for, it's what real people
are searching for that get you to your site. When those two
worlds collide, you have something.

I use 2 things. I use google to tell me what they think my
site's keywords are. Then I check with cpanel (I know,
that's not as sexy as others, is it?) to see where my latest
visitors are coming from, what search engines, what the visitor
searched for, etc. That's a treasure trove of info. Funny how
cpanel never gets any love.

That looks pretty good overall, but it does still ask for keywords to search for, so not quite what I was looking for... thanks, though, will keep this one bookmarked for another time!

Great! That's more what I was looking for, and it shows some keywords for my site ranking #1 and #3 (ones I wasn't trying for)... except that doing a Google search for the #1 keyword doesn't show my site on the front page.

Hmmm...

Still, some potentially useful info here...thanks!

For Google, what specifically do you use?

Yeah, Semrush is awesome. I've bought it some time ago, and I'm very satisfied using it.

Agreed. Play in webmaster tools and see how you are being found. Many times you can come up with a lucrative keyword that you never thought of by the people that have already visited your site. The only thing that you need to keep in mind is that just because there is a lot of searches doesn't mean that the keyword is good. You may get a keyword that is a "window shopping" keyword and not one that amounts to much ROI. On the other side you may find a keyword with less searches but a higher ROI. I think it is good to have a mix of both, but in the long run it is about how much you can make right?

Nice...that gave me something on one of my sites, but I guess the others are too new or not enough traffic for it to be able to do anything. Thanks for that, and will also check out Google Webmaster Tools as well as Analytics.

Good points for sure...and that's exactly what I wanted to do - see how I'm being found, particularly for which keywords, so I can research them and see if I'm missing out on promoting some. Thanks!
