Problems with backlink checking

I am new in internet marketing. I do seo for a couple of weeks. To set my goals and know what is going on I need to check my site's backlink. For this I have came to know some checker like backlinkwatcher, site explorer, seositecheckup etc. I do use them. But the problem is most of my competitors have over 1000 links. And these checker have no read out after 1000 links......none of them......now what to do? is there any solution or a way to get them?

Please help me.

The number of backlinks isn't going to get you rankings. There are sites with three thousand backlinks and they can get ranked lower than i site with 10 or 20.
I always like to see backlinks from higher ranked pages than mine and then see if i can obtain a similar link.

You can use SeoQuake for checking the backlinks of any pages. Install it in your Mozilla Firefox browser and browse any link you want. SeoQuake will show you the backlinks of that page and many more.

What will you do with the info the backlink checking software gives you? What if the info they give you is incorrect (and I assure you it is)? What would you do then? My advice is not to download a single piece of software that offers to help you to track links. Instead focus only on putting more links out and then forget about them as soon as you do submit them out.

I use SEO Quake but I am not satisfied.

Thanks for the advice. Yeah, this is true that there is no guarantee that if their info is correct or not. But sometimes it is necessary to check what is going on. If you know about your competitors, definitely you can walk through your plan, I guess.

Focusing too much on the results that a backlinks checker tool gives you does no good. Focus on getting good quality backlinks and see the result.

If you ever need detailed reports about backlinks, be it from your site or your competition. I would recommend MajesticSeo. They have their own network of crawlers and are not depending on another service.
The downside is the price.

Try to focusing on your own site first and when you are ranking and earned some money invest it into better/faster backlink methods and information.

nowadays back links don't matter much as long as ur indexed good in Google, Google changed there ranking criteria focus more on your on-page optimization and on-page content

There are changes in Google Algorithms and all these are related to link farms and poor content. But you cannot say backlinks doesn't matter.
